A short film about masculinity, intimacy and the quiet ways men disappear from their own lives.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Welcome to the official page for ED.

ED is a short film currently in development that explores the emotional lives of gay men—particularly as many of us move into midlife and begin to reflect on masculinity, intimacy, aging, relationships, and the quieter ways we cope when life doesn’t always look the way we imagined it would. A story rarely told.

The story unfolds over the course of one night, following a man alone in a motel room on Christmas Eve as he confronts parts of his life he has long avoided—questions of intimacy, identity, loneliness, and the weight of expectations we often carry as men.

This is both a story about crisis and collapse as well as a story about recognition. It’s a story of hope.

Many men don’t explode when something in their lives begins to unravel. They slowly withdraw. They avoid difficult conversations.
They convince themselves things are fine.

ED lives in that space. And in the internal struggle of one’s own psyche when we don’t live up to the expectations of society or the one’s we place on ourselves.

This page will share updates about the film, images from the project, reflections on the themes behind the story, and the journey of bringing this film to life.

Thank you for following along and being part of the conversation.

Should any of the themes and ideas of ED move you to support our project, we would be deeply grateful. You can support us here:
