For the #RoboticsUnknown Challenge, our team visited a children’s home in Jacmel to celebrate World Robotics Day by sharing the excitement of robotics with children who rarely have the opportunity to experience it. 🤖💙

We spent the day with around 20 children, introducing them to robotics, answering their questions, and giving them a chance to discover something new. Their curiosity, excitement, and smiles reminded us that innovation should be accessible to everyone, no matter where they come from.

We are proud to help make robotics more inclusive

✈️ On our way to Port-au-Prince! 🇭🇹🤖
Today, Team Educáre Haiti is headed to Port-au-Prince after being invited by the Banque de la République d'Haïti (BRH) to serve as the featured presenters at tomorrow's AI, STEM & Robotics Expo.

We are incredibly honored that the organizers chose to fly our team in from Jacmel to showcase how Haitian students are using technology to solve real-world problems and imagine a brighter future.

Tomorrow we'll be demonstrating:
🤖 Our FIRST Tech Challenge National Competition Robot—designed, built, and programmed by Haitian students.
🧠 The mBot Mind-Controlled Robot—demonstrating how brain-computer interfaces can be used to control robotics.
🥽 Our Virtual Reality Classroom—bringing immersive STEM learning experiences to students.
🎭 Bob, our humanoid robot inspired by Jacmel's world-famous papier-mâché tradition.
🌱 TerraLink, our environmental IoT monitoring system designed to help protect natural resources through real-time data.
🚀 Mission ShakthiSAT—our international space initiative, where one of our students will represent Haiti alongside young women from around the world in designing a satellite mission.

One exhibit is especially meaningful to us.
Jacmel is known around the world for its incredible papier-mâché artistry. As our students began designing a humanoid robot, they asked a simple question:
Why should technology look like it came from somewhere else?
So they built Bob—a robot that celebrates Haitian creativity while showcasing what's possible through engineering and artificial intelligence.

For us, innovation doesn't replace culture.

It grows from it.

The Banque de la République d'Haïti has challenged the country to think boldly about artificial intelligence, innovation, and Haiti's future.
Thank you to the Banque de la République d'Haïti for inviting Educáre Haiti to be part of this important event and for investing in conversations about innovation, education, and the next generation of Haitian leaders.

The future of Haiti is being built by its young people—and tomorrow, they'll have the opportunity to show the country what's possible.

In our last challenge, we looked back at the places that shaped our history. Today, we celebrate the rhythms, dances, and traditions that keep our heritage alive.

For the @f1rstglobal Social Media Challenge #3, we’re showing the world our rhythm with some « Imamou Lele » moves

Haitian folklore dances and music are inspired by African roots, local traditions, and historical experiences. Through rhythms, songs, and movements, dances express stories, emotions, and the values of the community. The tambour guides many traditional dances, creating a powerful link between the past and the present.

This performance is our way of honoring our heritage while inspiring the next generation to keep it alive. When children know where they come from, they dance with confidence toward where they are going.

We are Team Haiti, a team of 150 students from Southern Haiti brought together by a shared passion for robotics, innovation, and learning.

Our team is made up of different groups, including mechanics, programming, design, and communications, and each member plays an important role in our journey.
For this challenge, we chose to take our photo in front of Jacmel’s Gingerbread architecture and one of our historic churches, which has stood for more than 116 years.
We chose these landmarks because they represent something that is very important to us: our history. In Jacmel, history is everywhere, and we believe it helps shape our future.
These buildings tell stories of creativity, resilience, and perseverance, values that are also at the heart of our team.
Like many young people in Haiti, we have learned to keep moving forward despite challenges such as limited resources, unreliable electricity, and internet access.

Over the years, FIRST Global has helped us grow not only as a robotics team but also as leaders and mentors. We have shared our knowledge with other young people in our communities and helped create opportunities for them to discover STEM. Representing Haiti is an honor for us because it allows us to share both our culture and our vision for the future. Just as these landmarks have stood strong through generations, we hope to inspire the next generation to build, innovate, and dream bigger.

🚀 We were proud to participate in DevExpo2026, one of the largest technology expositions in the country, taking place simultaneously across all 10 departments of Haiti!

Our team had the opportunity to showcase three innovative projects that demonstrate how technology can be used to inspire learning, creativity, and problem-solving:

🤖 Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Robot Control
Using Electrooculography (EOG), students demonstrated how eye movements can be used to control a robot, exploring the exciting possibilities of human-machine interaction.

🥽 AI-Powered Virtual Reality Classroom
A virtual learning environment designed to support students in Haiti through immersive education experiences and AI-assisted tutoring.

⚙️ FTC & FGC Robotics Projects
Students presented their robotics designs, programming skills, and engineering solutions developed through hands-on learning and teamwork.

Seeing young innovators confidently present their ideas and engage with visitors was a powerful reminder that the future of technology in Haiti is bright.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions, and encouraged our students. Together, we are helping build the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

History was made in Jacmel, Haiti.
For the first time ever, a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics event took place on Haitian soil — organized entirely by students, attended by over 500 community members, and powered by years of determination, preparation, and belief in what Haitian youth can build.

Five FTC teams competed. Three XRP teams participated. Every role — from field setup to match coordination — was filled by teenage volunteers who showed up and delivered.

This is not just a recap of one event. It is the beginning of a national STEM movement.

Team Haiti has competed at the FIRST Global Challenge in Singapore, Athens, and Panama. Now, we are building something at home — a sustainable, nationwide robotics league that will give hundreds of Haitian students each year access to world-class STEM education and international competition.

The talent was always here. We are just removing the barriers.
