An inspiring evening of learning and reflection at last night’s Beyond WISIT event, “From Love to Action.”What a wonderful opportunity to learn from @boixmansilla, explore powerful documentation of learning, and engage in meaningful conversations with fellow educators. ❤️🌍

🌟💙 Our Randolph Stars came together for our first All-Star Galaxy Morning Meeting of the year! 🌌✨

Rooted in Responsive Classroom practices, these monthly Morning Meetings give students the opportunity to strengthen relationships, share their voices, and build a true sense of community across grade levels.

Today we also wrapped up Unity Week with Friendship Friday, wearing our grade-level colors to celebrate friendship, kindness, and the amazing school community we share. 🌟

Loved the opportunity to guide our 5th graders through the Visible Thinking routine “Claim, Support, Question” to share their ideas, support their thinking with evidence, and ask thoughtful questions. By making their thinking visible, students strengthened their reasoning, deepened their understanding, and learned from one another! 💡💭

💭 5th Grade Chalk Talk! Students generated questions, responded to one another, and shared what they already knew—all while building on each other’s thinking. This simple Visible Thinking Routine sparked inquiry, made student thinking visible, and gave teachers a window into students’ prior knowledge and emerging wonderings.

Today we kicked off our Project Zero Learning Groups! We began by identifying where we are in our own Project Zero journey, then used Color, Symbol, Image (CSI) to share pieces of who we are. We brought our individual stories together to make our thinking—and our connections—visible. 🧵✨ Looking forward to a year of connecting, exploring, applying, and reflecting as we learn together and strengthen Project Zero practices across our learning community.

Learning, creating, and finding inspiration at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum! Loved today’s Beyond WISIT workshop, “Expressing Youth Civic Voice Through Stamp Design,” and exploring how something as small as a postage stamp can become a powerful entry point for student voice, identity, and civic expression. 📬

✅🍎 Week #1 is in the books! A year into my Instructional Coach role and still learning, growing, and finding new ways to support teachers and students. Excited for what year 21 has in store! 💡🌏💭

Attending @theecologyschool Teacher Institute was the PD I needed this summer! Surrounded by passionate educators from across the country, we explored watersheds, ecology, conservation, and sustainability through hands-on, place-based learning. We learned from incredible ecology educators & community partners, and experienced firsthand how powerful outdoor learning can be. One of my favorite parts was connecting with educators who share a passion for curiosity, science, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students. Those conversations, along with the beauty of River Bend Farm, left me feeling recharged and excited to bring new ideas back to @randolohelementary this fall! 🍃💧🌳

Loved day 1 of Project GLAD training with @gladacps! Today was packed with learning, collaboration, and strategies that support language acquisition and student engagement. I was especially inspired by the intentional ways @ntcprojectglad makes rigorous content accessible for all learners while creating opportunities for every student to participate and succeed. I’m excited to continue learning and thinking about how these strategies can support teachers and students across my school community.💭🗣️❓💡 #RandolphStars #LifelongLearner #SummerLearning #EveryAPSstudent by @educate.and.explore

⭐🌌 Our final Star Galaxy @responsiveclass Morning Meeting of the school year was a special celebration of growth, learning, and reflection!

Students proudly shared their @iborganization portfolios, showcasing the many ways they have grown as learners, thinkers, and members of our learning community throughout the year. From exciting projects to personal reflections, each portfolio highlights a year full of curiosity, perseverance, and accomplishment.

Last week, some of our 5th graders had a chance to meet with representatives from EcoAction Arlington as part of their @iborganization PYP Exhibition research connected to @theglobalgoals 1️⃣4️⃣: Life Below Water and 6️⃣: Clean Water & Sanitation 🌊🌎💧

Students learned about water pollution in Arlington, the important work EcoAction Arlington is doing to protect our local waterways, and the actions we can all take to make a difference. From reducing pollution to protecting ecosystems, our students are thinking critically about how they can take action to create positive change in our community.

We are so proud of the thoughtful questions, curiosity, and passion our students are bringing to their IB Exhibition projects! 🌊♻️ #PYPX2026 #SDG14 #SDG6 #StudentAction @ecoactionarlington @randolphelementary by @educate.and.explore

Earlier this week, our #PZ learning group came together to share ideas and model @projectzerohgse visible thinking routines we’ve been trying in our classrooms. 💭💡

We embraced open-mindedness, showed up as thought partners, and made meaningful connections about how these routines can transfer across different settings. It’s powerful to see how collaborative thinking not only deepens our practice, but expands what’s possible for our learners.
