#noIA Some research projects don’t begin because someone asks you to; they begin because an idea keeps circling in your mind and won’t leave you alone.

Almost ten months ago, I set out to understand how to create truly convincing 3D foam. I thought I would find a clear workflow or a solid starting point, but none of the methods I found produced the result I had in mind. So I did the only thing I could: observe, analyze, and experiment.

For months, I tried different approaches, discarded many of them, studied the work of other artists, gained a better understanding of foam behavior, and kept trying again and again. There were breaks for projects and work, but I never stopped returning to this research.

What I love most about this project is that the result didn’t appear overnight. It’s the sum of hundreds of small decisions, tests that didn’t work, and others that, little by little, brought me closer to the image I had in my head.

This render doesn’t represent the end of a search; it represents the point I’ve reached so far. And probably, in a few months, I’ll reopen this file to take it a little further, because ultimately, that’s what I enjoy most about doing 3D: researching, understanding how things work, and building my own tools.

I recently had the opportunity to participate in a very special masterclass in Peru, where we explored how to create realistic and expressive flowers in Cinema 4D without using external plugins.
The idea was to get back to basics: understanding the structure, rhythm, and natural language of movement. Every petal, every curve, every reaction... everything comes from Cinema 4D itself, using only its native tools.

This process reminded me of something important: technique is only the medium, but sensitivity to nature is what brings animation to life.

Thanks to everyone who participated, to Wacom, SENATI, and PolygonUs for making it possible, and to those who continue to believe in the power of digital art to connect the human with the natural.
