The Phoenicians were Canaanite-speaking peoples who lived along the eastern Mediterranean coast. The Greeks called them “Phoinikes,” which means purple in greek, a name associated with the famous purple dye they produced from sea snails. The Phoenicians also developed a highly influential alphabetic writing system that the Greeks adapted and modified, which later influenced the Latin alphabet used today.

Baal worship was an ancient Canaanite religion centered on Baal, a storm and fertility god associated with rain, crops, and agricultural prosperity. Worshippers offered sacrifices of children and held rituals to gain his favor, and the Hebrew Bible later strongly condemned Baal worship as a rival to Yahweh.

Today, some people argue that Baal worship still exists in symbolic or modern forms, particularly through occult practices, imagery, and rituals associated with ancient pagan gods. The 1933 Chicago World’s fair has also been cited in modern discussions about pagan symbolism, including claims connected to The Romance of a People. However, these interpretations are debated and should not be presented as proof that literal Baal worship was taking place at the fair, although there is black and white footage of this ceremony that you can find on youtube. “Romance of a people, Chicago world fair 1933”

During the Iran and Israel conflict, Iranian protesters burned an effigy of “Baal” as an insult to Israel insinuating that the leaders of Zionist movements use religion to hide their Baal worship.

I decided to do this piece because it does feel as if America is ran by a cult of people whose beliefs stretch far back before even the old testament was plagiarized and taken from ancient Persian (Iran) folklore Via “Cyrus’ Decree” 539 BCE.
