While this season is coming to an end, a new journey has already begun.

In the past weeks, Edward Clug (@edwardclug) and our dancers have taken the first steps in bringing
C A R P A T H I A – The Myth of the Undead to life — a new work comissioned especially for our company.

Engaging directly with Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Edward Clug approaches the novel as a cultural act: a Western projection of fear, desire, and fascination with the unknown. Born in Transylvania, he redirects this gaze towards its source, exploring the origins of the myth through the landscapes, rituals, and memories from which it emerged.

Drawing from the mysteries of the Carpathians, the piece is taking shape from the first choreographic ideas and movements to the newly composed music by Slovenian composer Milko Lazar.

In den vergangenen Wochen haben Edward Clug und unsere Tänzer:innen sich an die ersten Proben gewagt, um C A R P A T H I A – Der Mythos der Untoten zum Leben zu erwecken — ein neues Werk, das eigens für unsere Compagnie in Auftrag gegeben wurde.

In direkter Auseinandersetzung mit Bram Stokers Dracula begreift Edward Clug den Roman als kulturellen Akt: als westliche Projektion von Angst, Begierde und Faszination für das Unbekannte. Als gebürtiger Siebenbürger lenkt er diesen Blick zurück zu seinem Ursprung und erforscht die Wurzeln des Mythos anhand der Landschaften, Rituale und Erinnerungen, aus denen er entstanden ist.

Ausgehend von den Geheimnissen der Karpaten entsteht das Stück – von den ersten choreografischen Ideen bis zur eigens komponierten Musik von Milko Lazar.

Entre fraternité sacrifiée et passion interdite, Castor & Pollux déploie toute la puissance d’une tragédie baroque dans un opéra-ballet. La musique virtuose de Rameau épouse avec finesse les tourments d’un drame psychologique intense, où Pollux, fils des dieux, confronte son immortalité pour sauver son frère mortel.

Dans un dialogue subtil entre voix et corps, le @balletgtg, guidé par le metteur en scène et chorégraphe @edwardclug , trace à pas de velours la voie d’une fraternité universelle et transcendante, triomphante des guerres et de la mort.
