Ever green in the midst of winter winds and icicles. The sun is bringing more light and warmth. We are not forever young, but we can be young-hearted, resilient, and help others to be the same. The Quakers believe we all have a light within. May you find that so it can light the way for others. May it continue to glow stronger and brighter! That is how we meet the challenges. That is how we push back against the darkness. Love is stronger than hate. Be a beacon! Happy New Year! by @edwardfreiner

The Wendameen, built in Germany in 1912. Like the U.S. Coast Guard’s Eagle, this schooner came to the United States as reparations for Germany’s crimes of aggression in WWII. Millions lost their lives when the dictators of that era, Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin quelled dissent, free speech, and journalism, and amassed huge armies. They lost to freedom and democracy. by @edwardfreiner
