Previews open 28th. I’m so grateful to be doing what I’m doing.
Come see some critically important frivolity.

While the world burns down
and forgets the sound of laughter,
Try to remember;
Clowns will be the architects
Art will be our reconstruction
Artists will be our saviors taken in JMAC by @edwardspelledted

4 years sober today…
It only took me 10 years to get here.

In that time: I earned my MFA & continue to act regularly, I cofounded a theatre company, I got married to a magnificent partner, I started a band, I performed a Tedtalk & I’m teaching at my dream job.

I don’t do this to brag
I do this because I hope some oddball out there who feels incapable, broken, or out of place; uses this evidence to find the strength to find their voice, and dare to be taken seriously.
It just takes a little humility, accountability, honesty, and patience.

As I look to what’s next, I can’t help but think to myself;
Oh boy!

Tech is fun!

We’re building Urinetown this weekend. Tech week is an intense period that immediately precedes opening night where all the pieces come together.

Until this weekend, we’ve been working separately on all our various concentrations - lighting, sound, scenic, costumes, acting, a/v, management… And over the next 48 hours, it all comes together to make a cohesive show!

Two years ago we said
“No bad day is so bad that
it isn’t better when you’re around.”

For two years we fought, laughed, struggled, succeeded, failed, stumbled, triumphed, lost, WON!, swam, sunk, stuck the landing, near miss, lost our shit, found our shit, powered through, embarrassed ourselves and made it look easy…

…& not one bad day yet…

Find out what I found out reading Timothy Snyders book “On Tyranny: 20 lessons from the 20th century” while we wait for another plastic Jesus savior figure to step in & take responsibility for our poor management skills.
