what a beautiful day to sit outside for lunch 😋

📍 MakiMart, 205 Dundas St W, Toronto // @makimart.ca (💌 invited)

I love grabbing a few rolls from MakiMart especially when I’m in a hurry— great if you want a quick snack or a filling lunch

What I Ordered (each at a different price point!):
- 🐟 Uni Toro ($8.95) - tuna, sea urchin, rice, and crispy seaweed
- 🍣 Salmon Belly ($4.95) - salmon belly, fish roe (ikura), rice, and crispy seaweed
- 🥩 Sukiyaki Beef with Egg Yolk ($6.95) - marinated beef, egg yolk, rice, and crispy seaweed

Hard to decide my favourite, but it might have been the sukiyaki beef! I also loved adding soy sauce to everything — the fish container had the perfect drops and the soy sauce was light but amplified the taste of each roll.

whether you’re a Filipino foodie or you want to try some new (non-lumpia) Filipino food, this spot is definitely a must-try 🇵🇭

📍 GIMIKZ Kitchen and Bar, 376 Kingston Road (Unit 17), Pickering, ON // @gimikzkitchenandbar (💌 invited)

There are some Filipino food spots across GTA east, but most of them are take-out only. GIMIKZ is one of the few that actually does both takeout and dine-in, but you’ll def want to dine-in because of its cozy vibes and fun Friday and Saturday night live performances! Did I forget to mention you can also do karaoke most other nights?

Not to mention, every single dish I’ve had here is 😚 delicious 😚 (and I’ve been here like 3 times now)

✨✨NEW FILIPINO RESTAURANT✨✨ in pickering !!
I haven’t too many chances to try Filipino food before so I was super excited to check out @gimikzkitchenandbar 😋
so many good options (have to go back to try the rest of their menu!) some standouts for me were the sisig, crispy pork belly, and the ube flan 🤤🤤🤤
they also offer catering trays perfect for any upcoming holiday get togethers!
I really like how comfortable yet elevated their space felt - the live music made the evening even more enjoyable!
thanks @eebzieeats for recommending this place and teaching me the spoon fork shovel method of eating 🥄🍴🪏

good afternoon everyone, this salad and mac deserved it’s own post 😊 it was a yummy lunch

What we ordered:
🥗 Rasa Chopped Salad - my friends recommended this and it’s definitely delicious, flavourful, and filling 😌 can we also take a look how beautiful the plating is— I thought the green sauce was part of the bowl design!!
🧀 Mac N Cheese - tasted extra delicious because they gave this to us for free 🥺 bc they saw me struggling to decide between a salad or this 😭❤️ the amount of cheese was great, crispy onions provided great texture, and although something that made me hesitant to order it was the scotch bonnet vinaigrette, it is a necessary and delicious ingredient that cuts through the richness!

We loved the light texture of this cake— the airiness of the frosting transitioned so smoothly to the texture of the cake + the crunchy bits were great! They’ve perfected “not-too-sweet”!
