Highlight 🇻🇳 was this coffee & Bahn mi workshop - really loved it and Jesse was such a nice dude. Learnt a lot about their coffee culture and how to make the little Bahn mi rolls. Was really fun!! #vietnam #coffeeculture #bahnmi #workshop by @eemilyyjannee

VIETNAM 🇻🇳/ walking food tour - highly recommend doing one. Such a great way to see the city and culture. Lovely bunch of people too - 5 out of 7 were Aussie eye roll 🙄 #standard we are everywhere.

Street of Hanoi

Phò for another breakfast

Little cat mat we found & loved and is now at our front door as you enter 🫶🏼

Salt coffee ☕️

Roads of Hanoi

We searched far and wide for this restaurant

Bun Cha was one of our favourite dishes

Caramel salt coffee

Cute dude and more coffee

Oh look more coffees & cute dude

Cafe down a creep hall. To another hall. To set of stairs and up up up to a little cafe. Typical cafes there in Hanoi

Lunch/ street food with a fan to keep us cool

🫶🏼🫶🏼

Little street sausage with a chilli 🌶️ dipper

Communal bong been used by a random dude while street sausage vendor went somewhere on he’s scooter.

Pastries for breakfast

Custard centre - pastries are not like back home. Humidity isn’t pastries friend.

Street vendor spring rolls not bad

Half duck rice & egg dish

This was our most expensive meal from a plastic stool street vendor $20 for all this by @eemilyyjannee

Lake Kiem - was right near our accommodation and every morning there was groups of people dancing, moving. Walkers. Runners. And was such a peaceful spot right in the middle of the city. We walked past it everyday.

📍 Lake Kiem Hanoi

Street markets were a thing early morning and lots of stands just outside people’s homes and we got this weird bamboo leaf rice thing.

Had rice. Coconut. Mung beans. Was sweet & savoury. Didn’t mind it.

Michelin star phò restaurants

Only served chicken phò

Was 10/10 best chicken phò restaurant we ate here several times. Had chicken phò like 10 different ways.

Found this weird spongey milk cake 🍰 and loved it.

Very sweet though.

Another spot for salt coffee & coconut coffee @ T cafe in Hanoi city. This was my favourite salt coffee for the trip.

Street donuts that Kayne loved. They were everywhere and I’m pretty sure was the only time we got ripped off. Kayne was say - worth it. Haha

They were chewy. Sweet but savoury. Not even sure what flavour or types they were.

Cha ca ca was by far our favourite place 10/10 in the old quarter Hanoi

Only served one item - no menu just sat down and then they placed this in front of you

It’s turmeric catfish with heaps of herbs: dill & spring onion. Sides of noodle. Fish sauce. Pate. Limes and chilli. Was amazing!!! 10/10

Independence Day meant many street full of the Vietnamese 🇻🇳 flags

Oh this is us. Remembering to take some photos together.

Dessert/ Kem Caramen a little dessert place - we got black rice and ice cream & these crem caramels.

You just walked in and found a stool. No really order just find a spot and someone will come to you. by @eemilyyjannee

Part1. Vietnam 🇻🇳 dump / Our first holiday together was a success guys - we didn’t break up! If anything Kayne’s a pretty good travel buddy.

Touch down in Vietnam 🇻🇳 at 7am- exhausted 😩 from an ‘overnight’ flight that we didn’t really sleep on. But didn’t stop us from eating …… and getting a morning massage 💆🏼‍♀️ because we were too early for our check in.

First feed was breakfast: phò and was so full of flavour. In this dingeyyy little stall store.

Second meal was lunch: bun ca - charcoal meats with noddles and this sweet, salty dipping sauce so so so delicious. (And yes we’ve already made it since being home that’s how much we loved it)

The streets are full of scooters and cute buildings.

Our first egg coffee experience

Cute adorable location

Was pretty much dessert in a cup - we thought this was the best thing ever until we tried a really good egg coffee. This one was too ‘sweet/dessert’ y.

Michelin star ⭐️ restaurant number 1

Shrimp soup - kinda like a Tom yum but better.

It was packed when we got there. No one spoke English we just pointed to a dish and said yes to everything they asked.

I tried Duran again …. It was still disgusting.

First Bahn mi

They do it a little differently over there. Less is more. And they were goooooddddd. by @eemilyyjannee

Enjoyed sunshine and lapping up the first month of being 35 🎉🫶🏼

Not a bad life. by @eemilyyjannee

BANG BANG BIRTHDAY! was inspired by Will Guidara where you eat an entree, main and dessert at three different places and so that’s what we did. Hit up the big smoke and off we went eating.
Entree: @heebicafe in Carlton for shoi pan (Japanese butter roll) a ham and cheese & a plain plus there version of a Mont Blanc which was / is amazing.
Main: @matsumotojapanese for a deluxe boat of sashimi and all the yummy thing. Super fresh and good.
Dessert: @fluffytorpedo_ I had yuzu basil sherbet & Kayne had baguette butter & lemon curd salted crackers.

When then wanted a bev and some music and stars aligned and a friend sent a video of an old timey group playing at a bar around the corner from where we were. So…. We went and had some beers. Was a wholesome and a day that magically flowed.

Thanks to @jimguitarsvinyl for always spoiling me and making my birthday special. Was a birthday to remember. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🍰🎈

MAY / what a time to be alive.
A little Instagram vs. reality moment in bed that I couldn’t stopped cry-laughing about. Many mugs shared with loved ones. World of chai continuing to grow and landed at one of our favourite local spots. My plants 🌱 thriving in one of my favourite spaces (HQ). Kayne leaving selfies on my Home Screen. More mugs with friends. A ice cream cookie cup that stole the show at Devil Wears Prada 2. New cafe adventures in the big smoke and of course a sandwich hunt. Random line dancing events & live music in the old neck of the woods (kyneton) photo with my in laws who I actually love & like. Watched the boys play more music. Ate more sandwiches. Date night with my man at our local and friends bar. Op shop find of the year. And finished with an incredibly wholesome lunch with incredibly wholesome humans. May was a good one!! by @eemilyyjannee

APRIL DUMP / grocery shopping with my fav man and my fav bag @houseoforganics_acm - still the best bag ever. Mont Blanc at good measure in the big smoke we never miss a chance to grab one. Weekend with my girllll natweee. Going to @ninch.nights third bday and final show for now….Lappin up the relaxation at Alba thermal springs, many chai’s, chats and good food. Including Kayne’s famous Bakewell tart. Got sent the funniest video from a girlfriend that made me cry for 20 mins (Kayne came to check I was okay) I got the last snippet of my laughter to share that joy with my friend who sent me the meme. Made chai cum cookies (that’s what everyone coined them. Not me) still delicious though. Went to Mumford and sons a very kind gift from a very kind human and what a show it was. Hung with some of my favs. Drank fun passion fruit margaritas at home. Made delicious sandwiches and ate them at a delicious park.

April was a lovely time. by @eemilyyjannee
