On April 28, 2024, at 12:40 AM, God called my Dad home. His passing was sudden and unimaginable, and the pain I feel has no words. Life will never be the same. If you’re reading this, please hug your parents a little tighter, call them often, take that trip, and love them with all your heart. My dad always asked me to visit him in Mexico, but I always found a reason to wait. Now I find myself standing outside his home, searching for him in every familiar place, picturing him walking through the plaza with his easy smile. I made it to Mexico, Dad just not in the way I ever dreamed I would. My world now carries a space that can never be filled. I’ll never have the joy of being walked down the aisle by you, and my future children will never know your warmth. I would give anything for one more hug, one more moment, one more touch of your hand on my cheek. Rest peacefully, my old man.
