Monday.

Reading update - I’m on chapter 62 of Crescent City. I actually stopped reading it for the past few days as it wasn’t holding my attention. I’ve got 10% of Fallon Rook left to read. These two books I hope to finish today.

I would love to read something completely new. So if you have any recommendations please send them my way.

Today is the first day of astronomical autumn, so I thought it was the perfect excuse to buy myself a book that feels like autumn.
I picked The Maple Bakery Murder as the cover is so autumnal, I love it.
It’s a small town romance, with mysterious vibes, the perfect kind of cosy crime read.

Happy fall of the leaf day.

Guys I can’t believe the connections I have found in these 3 series.
I read Throne of Glass and ACOTAR a while ago now and I’m currently reading CC. I’ve been going back and forth reading randoms paragraphs and chapters and I’ve just come across these moments of connections between the different worlds. When I first read the books I never picked up on them. I’m so glad I spent this time going back, it’s giving me so much more understanding now of the different universes.
I won’t say anymore as I don’t want to ruined it for anyone who is reading these series for the first time.

Autumn walks.
🍂☁️🪵🌰

I thought this was the perfect opportunity to listen to my audiobook of House of Earth and Blood. I managed to listen to an hour of it while walking. I am finding it difficult to follow the story as it’s narrated in third person. I’ve got back to the beginning of a chapter twice now because I had no clue what was happening lol.

Does anyone else struggle with third person pov?

Monday morning routine ☕️📖

This time of day has become one of my favourites, I get a little me time while my child sleeps. It’s the moment I get to do skincare and get a little bit of reading in while enjoying a coffee. It’s these little things that make my morning better.

Because I Killed Him Review

Dystopian society
Dark academia university setting
Slow burn

I won’t lie guys I felt extremely annoyed since I finished this story last night. It’s completely turned my mood. The reason being, there is no book two. There is no release date, no title and no cover. And all I want to do is read book two. It’s my own fault for not doing any research before starting it. I guess I’ll have to wait.
I now recommend all my friends to go read this story so you can feel the same way as me haha.

Because I Killed Him is a dystopian romantasy filled with secrets, political power, forbidden friendships and loves. You have low citizens and high citizens. The low citizens have green blood and the highs have blue blood. There lives depend on the credits they have and achieve. They could die if they run out of them.
Loredana is a low citizen, and she’s hiding a secret, if it comes out, she could be executed. She needs protection but the only way to get it is to be in an alliance with Edmund a blue citizen. He is not like most blues, he see the world they have created differently and he doesn’t judge people on the colour of their blood. He’s very selfless and has empathy where a lot of others don’t. I found him to be incredibly intelligent and kind. You don’t get his pov in this book but I really hope in the next book we do.

This was such an intriguing read from the moment I started it and I didn’t have a clue to what this story was about to the moment I finished it. The slow burn built up was annoyingly good. I was waiting for them moments and so many came. They were just brilliant.
Then the ending came and it has ruined everything that is waiting to be read on my kindle.

Chapter 9. The in between.

September brings warm moments and crisp rain, fresh air and the promise of regrowth and new beginnings for the garden. As the days shorten and evenings grow darker, autumn’s arrival becomes apparent.

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to slow down, reach for a book and settle into cosy reading days. 🍂📖

And just like that, summer is over for me.

The shift in the weather has already begun, and my autumn/winter wardrobe has been dusted off. I’m sad to say goodbye to wild blackberry season, but very excited to say hello to apple season.

Summer may be coming to an end, but my favourite reading season is just beginning.
