My TBR is officially judging me at this point πŸ˜πŸ“š

So I’m starting a series:
Me vs My TBR.

No pressure, no perfect routine…
just me trying to actually read the books I already own.

Some days I’ll read a lot.
Some days I won’t.
But I’m showing up.

Let’s see who wins πŸ‘€

πŸ“š If you also have a never-ending TBR…
you’re part of this now.

I’m officially giving up control of my reading life πŸ˜πŸ“š

From today, I’m starting a series:
You Recommend, I Read.

You suggest a book…
and I’ll actually read it (yes, really).

It can be:
πŸ“– your favorite book
πŸ’” the one that emotionally destroyed you
😀 or something you think I’ll regret reading

Top recommendations = my next reads πŸ‘€
Choose wisely.

Reading shouldn't feel like a task.
It's okay to read slowly.
It's okay to read little.
It's okay to just read 🀍

Save this for the days you forget that.

What Reading Actually Does To You β€” Not To Be Dramatic.

Not To Be Dramatic But Books Might Be The Most Underrated Thing You Can Do For Yourself.

Why I Talk About Books Like They're People I Care About. Because Books Showed Up When People Couldn't.

What's a book that fixed something in you? πŸ“–

I make content about books for people who love reading β€” and I'm not ashamed to admit these 5 things.

I DNF books. A lot. My time is the most honest review I can give. πŸ“–

I judge books by their covers. Every single time. And I'm not sorry.πŸ““

There are books everyone loves that I found completely average. I smiled and nodded for too long. Now I just say it. πŸ“š

I have bought books knowing I'll never read them. On purpose. Because the TBR is not a guilt list β€” it's a library of future moods. πŸ›’

And I buy entire series before even reading the first book. 🫰🏻

The book community can feel like a lot of performance. Right books, right opinions, right shelf aesthetic.

The moment I stopped performing and started being honest about how I actually read β€” this whole thing became more fun.

What's something about your reading life you're not ashamed to admit? πŸ“–

A thriller made me sleepy. First time ever. πŸ˜πŸ“–

The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden β€” I came in with high expectations after loving Never Lie and The Crash. And this one just didn't deliver.

Two timelines, multiple POVs, murders, secrets, suspicious characters β€” everything a thriller should have. But the pacing killed it for me. Every time I picked it up I read a few pages and felt like napping.

There is one twist that genuinely surprised me though. I thought I had it all figured out and the book proved me wrong. That saved it a little.

But compared to Never Lie? Not even close.

My rating: 3 Chandu Moons out of 5 πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ•πŸŒ‘πŸŒ‘

If you want edge-of-your-seat suspense β€” skip this one. If you're already a Freida McFadden fan β€” maybe give it a try and decide for yourself.

What's a thriller that actually kept you up all night? I need my next read πŸ‘‡

This is your sign to start reading again.
Yes. You. The one who used to finish books in a weekend and now can't remember the last time you even opened one.

Life happened. Work happened. Screens happened. And somewhere in the middle of all of it β€” you just stopped.

But you're still here. Still feeling that small pull whenever someone talks about books. Still saving recommendations you never get around to.
That's not guilt. That's your reading self reminding you it's still there.

You don't need a goal. You don't need a long book. You don't need to be ready.

Just 18 pages tonight. One quiet moment. One story that sounds good to you right now.

I came back to reading after a long break once. The first two pages felt awkward β€” like meeting an old friend after years apart.

By page three β€” I was home.
What book have you been meaning to go back to? Tell me. πŸ“–

I don't use five star ratings for books.

Never have. Never will.

Because I finished a book at 2AM that rewired something in my brain β€” and I gave it four stars. Then I finished a book on a train that I barely remember β€” and I also gave it four stars.

That's not a rating system. That's just noise.

So I made my own. I rate books in Chandu Moons. πŸŒ•

Five Chandu Moons β€” this book changed me.
One Chandu Moon β€” it existed. Moving on.

Your reading experience is too personal to be flattened into a number someone else invented.

QOTD: What would you rate books in if you could use anything?

52 books a year sounds impossible until you do the math.

18 pages a day.

1 book a week.

52 books a year.

That's one chai break. That's the 15 minutes before sleep. That's the time you spend scrolling before your brain gives up and goes to bed anyway.

The problem was never time. It was always the myth that reading needs a big uninterrupted block of it.

It doesn't. It just needs 18 pages and a willingness to start.

Save this. Come back to it when you think you "don't have time to read." πŸ“–

QOTD: How many books do you read in a year? πŸ“š

My father didn't ask me if I wanted to read.

He just made sure books were always there. Part of the routine. Part of the house. Part of growing up.

I didn't love it immediately. I didn't thank him for it then. Kids never do.

But somewhere between childhood and now β€” the habit became a hunger. And I stopped reading because I had to, and started reading because I genuinely couldn't imagine not.

Everything I create now β€” EFIL Anantham, the reviews, the reflections, the stories β€” it all traces back to one person who quietly decided this child will know books.

Prabhakar, thank you. I mean it more than I usually say it.

If someone made you a reader β€” tell me who. I want to know who to thank on your behalf. πŸ“–

You've heard "doobie scoot canoe" everywhere.

What you probably didn't know - it's actually German. "Du bist gut genug".

It means "You are good enough".

And once I knew that, the sound stopped being funny and started feelong like something I needed to hear.

We spent so much trying to become enough - better, faster, more. But growth and worth aren't the same thing. You can want to grow AND already be enough. Both can be true at the same time.

So if no one's told you today - you are good enough. Exactly as you are, right now.

Tag someone who needs this. 🀍

I have officially run out of excuses.

After what feels like a thousand recommendations, I'm finally watching Friends for the first time in my life.

No spoilers please β€” but if there's something I need to know going in, tell me πŸ‘‡

(Also yes, this is still EFIL Anantham. Books, shows, movies β€” it's all just stories. And I'm a sucker for a good story.)
