Alice Auaa DE SPECTRIS Graphic T-Shirt

Size: Free (Small)

$1,000 NFS

A very difficult piece to find, with little information available regarding its production date. Based on the tag and construction, it appears to date from the 1990s.

The graphic is taken directly from the 1656 reissue of Ludwig Lavater’s Magica de Spectris, replacing the original typography on the title page. The imagery used is particularly striking for its time: a witch preparing potions in a cauldron, a winged beast, and various spirits. These symbols were associated with esoteric subjects, demonology, and witchcraft.

Magica de Spectris is regarded as one of the most important and influential early texts concerning ghosts and spirits. It examines the belief that certain spirits remain trapped in the earthly world through the influence of the Devil.#aliceauaa#archive by @efta00025010
