Our Macedonian adventure is one of the wildest and most unforgettable experiences as a band. We’re grateful for all the incredible people we met in Macedonia, and deeply thankful that director Andreas Johnsen captured the journey so beautifully in the film.

We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this incredible band, project and film! We are full of love for all of you!

EFTERKLANG: THE MAKEDONIUM BAND:

The Danish trio Efterklang heads to North Macedonia with a bold dream: to form a band with strangers and, in just one week, create something truly extraordinary.

What begins as a spontaneous idea soon turns into an audacious musical experiment. Without a proper plan but high on curiosity, Efterklang sets out to find local musicians they’ve never met and, together, stage a concert in front of the breathtaking Makedonium monument – a soaring symbol of freedom and resistance.

Guided by their longtime Macedonian friend Grga, the journey takes them from the bustling streets of Skopje to remote mountain villages, and all the way to the political top, in search of kindred spirits and new sounds. What unfolds is a warm, chaotic, and deeply human story of creativity and connection. A testament to the unifying power of music.

Directed by Andreas Johnsen, this adventurous and heart-opening documentary celebrates courage, curiosity, and the magic that happens when strangers come together to make something beautiful.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY 🎉🎉🎉

We are so incredibly happy and proud 😃 “Things We Have In Common” is out now!

Our 7th studio album and it’s very very special one for us. So many dear friends and inspiring beings have been a part of this journey and creation. We thank you dearly. Special shout out to our co-writer @rune.molgaard ❤️

We also thank each other 😂 We’ve been making albums and touring the world for more than 20 years now. It’s unbelievable how fresh and rewarding it still feels to be making music together ❤️

Also massive thanks to you for listening!!! We deeply appreciate it and we are so thankful for all of you who share and help us reach ears around the globe. Deeply appreciate your support ❤️

PEOPLE is coming back to Berlin, and we’ll be there - as Efterklang and as @liimaband !

Tickets are available via @peoplefestivalberlin. It’s a festival unlike any other we know of, and we can’t recommend it enough. It’s a week-long residency for 200+ artists, culminating in a two-day festival at the Funkhaus (the former radio house of East Germany’s state radio) on October 10–11, 2026.

We took part in the 2nd edition of People Festival back in 2018, and it was life-changing.

As Liima, we wrote new songs and performed them live with @mariam_repeatuntildeath Wallentin, Eirik @glambek of Kings of Convenience, @sinkane , @gasparclaus, Kobi Arditi, and @jeremyblvck. Vincent Moon (@petites___planetes) captured it on film - you can find it on YouTube.

As Efterklang, we performed with Zach of @beirutband , The Havels, and Bert and Indre of @meropemusic and many others. That performance made us realise we wanted to make Efterklang albums again.

Individually, we performed with many other artists - Rasmus even hosted a bingo game with Macaulay Culkin / @culkamania!

We met Joel of @sir_was at the festival, and he and Casper later wrote Lyset together.

Inspired by People Festival, we created Efterklangs Sommertræf, which returns next year for its 6th edition!

We’re excited to see what PEOPLE 2026 will bring! by @efterklang

Martin Hall 1963 - 2026 🕊️

Yesterday we said our final goodbye to this Danish icon. Martin Hall made a huge impression on us and showed us so much generosity when we came on the scene in the early 2000s. We learned and discovered so much through him.

We’ve collaborated a few times. “Tu Es Mon Image” can be found on his beautiful “Facsimile” album and on ours “One Sided LP” - both from 2006. Casper sings on “Wohnung” from his “Hospital Cafeterias” album from 2009.

His prolific career spans 6 decades and is breathtaking and utterly inspiring.
