Hard to be a baby on your first real outside ride

Thank you @damuth_performance_horses for putting the most amazing start in this one. She handled the mountain so well.

Everyone said corn needed 250 units of Nitrogen, and to be sprayed with an herbicide and a pesticide at least once.

We set out to show the world you didn’t need all that.

We took old alfalfa field and lightly disked (with a joker that only cuts the top 3-4inches) in order to knock the alfalfa back.

Then we seeded turnips, radish, peas, and vetch into the prepped ground. This was followed with the corn seed.

We took a chance to see if we could raise corn with nature providing the nitrogen and pest resistance….and it worked!!

Regenerative corn coming to cows near us.

Yes @greylightguide has his own cow.

In 2023 Wes spent 2 weeks hand feeding/watering and nursing this cow back to health. She got down in the mud that winter when we had apocalyptic levels of snow. Through sheer effort and some serious miracle she survived after sluffing a calf, only to have a second about a month later….she must have had twins.

So now she officially belongs to the husband.

When you think it’s a good idea to marry the rancher with all that hunting ground….but didn’t think about the “strings”

20 year old cow…..just gave us twins

Yes you read that right, this cow is 20 years old. And she just had twins. We are fortunate enough to have pasture where older cows get to spend their life so long as they are producing.

We tag our older cows with a purple tag to make sure they never go back to a big permit and stay on easy pasture. This cow we put in with our 1st time moms as a babysitter. And at 20 years old she is showing the young girls up by raising two. by @efulstone

15°F weather ✅
100°F fever with flu ✅
Cows that need to be driven home ✅

We wouldn’t do it if we didn’t love it, even on the days we would rather stay in bed.
