🐾 About last Friday night. October First Friday brought the Mutt Strut back to Eau Gallie Square and despite the Florida heat, you showed UP. 🥵🐶 The creative costumes. The big personalities. The crowd cheers. The happy dogs. The people who came out just to be part of it. It takes a community to build a community and nights like this are why we keep showing up 💜 A huge THANK YOU to: 🦁 @brevardzoo for sponsoring the Mutt Strut and supporting our community. 🛍️ Our local pop-ups for bringing their creativity, energy and life to the Square. 🎤 Our host + judges for giving their time and helping make the Mutt Strut so much fun. 🐾 @spacecoastfrenchierescue volunteers + fosters for taking time out of their already very busy schedules to join us and for everything you do every day to save lives and give these pups a second chance. Made this series in 2025 focused on business stories in EGAD (Eau Gallie Art District) in Melbourne, Florida. This is a piece of the intro that captures a little of the entire town. Easily one of my favorite towns on the Space Coast of Brevard County, Florida. My favorite part was working with George at ACE Hardware. He just represents the best of that Baby Boomer generation, and visiting his store is like visiting my childhood. People are nice and talkative. They welcome you in and help you find what you need. ✨ One of EGAD’s newest additions, Wood & Grace Artisan Jewelers, opened its doors this summer with something pretty special behind them. So we had to wander in to get the scoop on the story behind these doors. Family-owned and rooted in generations of jewelry experience, @wood.and.grace brings together a collection that includes rare gems, heirloom pieces and stones sourced from mines that are no longer open (some of which haven’t been in circulation for nearly 20 years!) Their focus goes beyond beautiful jewelry. They specialize in quality, heirloom redesign, and creating pieces meant to be treasured for generations, but while building a brand that feels connected to the community they now call home. This is what makes EGAD, EGAD. Creative people. Independent businesses. Artists, makers and entrepreneurs taking a chance on something of their own and adding a little more character to our corner of the Space Coast.
