Now available for preorder, my latest poetry collection - Bloodroot: Voices from a Salem Household, is a pastoral gothic set against the smoldering backdrop of 1692 Salem. A narrative in verse, the collection carries readers through the contrapuntal voices of an afflicted girl and the woman accused of bewitching her, an enslaved servant living under the same roof. Through motifs of blood, cloth, fire, and bone, the poems explore silence and intimate textures of domestic work, spirituality and madness, girlhood and undoing, raising questions about what it means to be believed and what it means to be accused.

Preorder is available through the link in my bio or by swiping for more details. The release date is January 29th next year.

This is admittedly a bittersweet day for me. Having lost my mother just two weeks ago and still mourning her loss every moment of every day, it feels strange to even post this. But this collection is perhaps my favorite of all I’ve written, and I know my mother would be proud. She always supported my life as a poet, believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. And I already know my next book - in whatever form it takes shape - will be for her. My mother contains multitudes of inspiration, and I will not let that inspiration go unwritten.

I am endlessly grateful for all your love and support.

In memory of my mother who passed peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, September 13th, two days before what would have been her 78th birthday. It’s taken almost a week to write this, because I’m still reckoning with it all. I miss you terribly, Mum-Z. No words amount to the love I have for you.❤️ by @eganaway

Over two weeks since her adoption (and after dozens of names) she’s finally shown her character in all its glory. She’s a little Tinker, in the British sense, but also as in pilgrim, mountain, creek, cake. She likes chasing (invisible) bugs and of course climbing things. She also likes sitting in a bowl that’s clearly too small for her. But she doesn’t seem to know that yet, and I’m not going to tell her. by @eganaway
