“CAS-09” @esmodparis @vakkoesmodistanbul FW27 graduate show CAS-9 is a collection inspired by the Cas9 enzyme used in gene editing, interpreted as a metaphor for identity and transformation. The project was born from the personal conflict between the scientific career that was expected of me and the artistic path I ultimately chose. The turning point came through a real biotechnology experiment conducted by my girlfriend, which inspired the idea that two completely different worlds could merge to create an entirely new identity. Instead of choosing between science and fashion, I decided to mutate them. Inspired by Annihilation and Chernobyl, the collection gradually brings together military aesthetics and the laboratory world across five looks. As the collection progresses, the silhouettes evolve, laboratory elements merge with the garments, and the mutation becomes increasingly visible. By the final look, the result is neither military nor laboratory, but a completely new identity born from the collision of two opposing worlds.
