I got super into drawing creepy nature this summer, and I wanted to see if I could translate that digitally. Turns out I really like drawing trees & nature. I think I did a good job considering photoshop is a vastly different medium than random paintbrush & paper that is DEFINITELY not meant for water color LOL
Also obligatory “thank you texture labs”, I find it really fun to do the BG textures first with blending modes + gradients + nature/close up pictures, and THEN drawing the character / layout / whatever over it based on whatever i see in the BG, its like a rorschach test but way more fun and also not at all like that actually

The Lady of the Light…

Tried something new with this one! I’m quite happy with it, I’ve been trying to shift my work from being whimsical with a side of cryptic to being cryptic with a side of whimsical this past Summer and I’m pretty happy with the mood in this one. Special shout out to texture labs for enabling my obsession with blending modes, the bg here is a picture of sand layered with a picture of glass, layered with a million adjustment layers and scribbles… turned out pretty cool I think
