🌙 DUST AND THE MOON 🌙 Farhang Foundation proudly presents the world premiere of “Dust and the Moon,” the official music video from RITE OF STRINGS, a new contemporary global music ensemble creating a sound that feels both ancient and new. Composed and arranged by Ehsan Matoori, “Dust and the Moon” explores the relationship between what is earthly and what remains beyond our reach. Dust evokes memory, displacement, fragility, and the traces we leave behind; the moon suggests distance, light, continuity, and hope. Built around the distinctive combination of santoor, violin, bass, and drums, the music moves between intimacy and openness, rooted in tradition while shaped by contemporary improvisation and the individual voices of the ensemble. Performed by RITE OF STRINGS: Ehsan Matoori — Santoor
Edward Perez — Bass
Eylem Basaldi — Violin
Engin Kaan Günaydın — Drums “Dust and the Moon” is the title track from RITE OF STRINGS’ debut album, out now on all streaming platforms via Bright Shiny Things. Recorded at Pinch Recording Studio in New York City in May 2026. Video Art Director — Mahya Farmani

QESHM by @rite_of_strings feat. Ismail Lumanovski - Official Music Video - Farhang Performances. Farhang Foundation proudly presents the world premiere of “QESHM,” performed by RITE OF STRINGS featuring internationally acclaimed clarinetist Ismail Lumanovski. Composed and arranged by Ehsan Matoori, “QESHM” is inspired by Qeshm Island, the largest island in the Persian Gulf. Its dramatic canyons, rugged coastlines, mangrove forests, and centuries of maritime culture form the backdrop for an imagined journey filled with wonder, movement, and limitless possibility. Blending the rhythmic spirit of southern Iran with contemporary improvisation, “QESHM” is both a tribute to the island and a celebration of the freedom to imagine what lies beyond the horizon. PERFORMERS: Eylem Basaldi — Violin Ehsan Matoori — Santoor Ismail Lumanovski — Clarinet Edward Perez — Arranger and Bass Engin Kaan Günaydın — Drums RITE OF STRINGS recorded its debut album, “Dust and the Moon,” at Pinch Recording Studio in New York City on May 13–14, 2026. The album will be released by Bright Shiny Things on August 28, 2026. به امید دیدار دوباره با شما دوستداران هنر، در شهرهای دیگه و به بهانه‌های قشنگ‌تر 🤍 What a memorable night last week in Northern California! A few moments captured from A Place to Breathe. So grateful to everyone who joined us and made the night so special. Until we meet again, somewhere along the way, for another night of art, music, connection, and soul-searching. 🤍⁩ Captured By: @heliapouyanfar by @ehsan_matoori

One of the best nights of my life. 🤍 Being part of A Place to Breathe meant so much to me. It was an honor to share the stage with @ehsan_matoori , @rahaetemadi , and @gregellisrhythm . Thank you for welcoming me into this meaningful collaboration—I learned so much from each of you. For my piece, What the Hands Remember, I transformed family photographs into collages live onstage, using paper, fabric, and thread. Projected above us, my hands responded to the music and poetry, giving shape to memories of home, distance, and belonging. To everyone who shared this night with us: thank you. I’ll carry it with me. A special thank to @irsa.osu whose support, care, and hard work helped make this event possible. by @ehsan_matoori
