Never Skip a Monday #88 💪🏼

Some Mondays you get a solid training session in… other Mondays your kids become the external load 😂

Step ups, pull ups & a little mom strength to finish it off.

You adapt. You improvise. But you NEVER SKIP A MONDAY. 🤪💪🏼 taken in Alpha Project Strength and Conditioning by @ehsimmons18

Happy 8th Birthday, Alpha!

It’s hard to put into words what these last eight years have meant to me.

Thank you to every coach who has poured into our people, every athlete who has trusted the process, every member who has shown up day after day, and every friend and family member who has supported this dream from the beginning.

Because of you, Alpha has become so much more than I ever imagined.

Here’s to Year 9. 🖤 taken in Alpha Project Strength and Conditioning by @ehsimmons18

NSAM WEEK 82 🌴☀️

We make time to take care of ourselves first... then we’re all in for the kids and a full day of fun in the sun 😎

Vacation mode isn’t a pause button.

We don’t “find time” to work out we prioritize it. A quick morning lift, a couple dumbbells, and suddenly the whole day hits different 💪

No gym? No problem. Just improvise and get it done.

NSAM WEEK 81!! 💪

Be stronger than your excuses.

You CAN prioritize yourself.
You CAN choose your health.
You CAN make time for yourself.
And you CAN choose not to skip a Monday.

Small decisions, repeated week after week, are what create big changes.

I’m rooting for you🔥 taken in Alpha Project Strength and Conditioning by @ehsimmons18

Emma Reedie this afternoon... Her new practice gear hasn’t come in yet, so today she wore my very first Sting jersey. 💙 Back then FILA was the Sting brand!

Pretty cool seeing her wear the same jersey and love the game as much as I did. Even crazier that she’s playing for the same club where I met some of my best friends and where I grew so much, both as a soccer player and as a person. Full circle in the best way. 💙⚽ by @ehsimmons18

NEVER SKIP A MONDAY ..... WEEK 80!!! 🔥

I haven’t missed a Monday workout in a YEAR AND A HALF 🤯

I quit posting my NSAMs earlier this year because technically… I accomplished my 2025 New Year’s resolution goal. But I never stopped my Mondays. I just decided I wasn’t going to post about them as much because DUH… they’re time consuming and we all know I have a TON of extra time 😉😂

ANYWAYS… I ran into some friends this weekend who told me they actually MISS my Never Skip a Monday posts 🥹

I honestly didn’t realize that some of y’all seeing my posts gave you motivation… or at least made you think twice about skipping your Monday workout because you thought of me 😂💪🏼

WELLLLLL… now I’m inspired to keep sharing!!!

So we are BACK, baby.

⚽️ Soccer Sunday = World Cup lift 💪

Woods asked if we could workout and watch soccer together today 🥰

Before the comments come in… is his form perfect? Nope. But that’s exactly the point.

Kids are not supposed to move like adults. Most children this age have similar movement patterns. They are learning body awareness, coordination, balance, and control. Those 5 to 10 lb weights are not harming him. They are helping him learn how to move.

Allowing kids to explore movement is healthy and should be encouraged. Climbing, jumping, lifting, running, and playing are all ways children learn about their bodies and build confidence in what they can do.

Brick by brick.

Today’s awkward reps become tomorrow’s strong, clean, controlled movements. Confidence is built through competence, and nothing beats watching your child discover what their body is capable of.

Research consistently shows that properly supervised strength training in youth improves strength, coordination, bone density, athletic performance, and can reduce injury risk. The weight room is not dangerous for kids. Poor coaching is.

As a former Division I soccer player with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Exercise Science, I will always lean on science and experience to help my children become stronger, healthier, and more confident humans and athletes.

If my kids want to train, I’m all in. If they don’t, that’s okay too. There is no forced training here. As you can see, the other two were in and out all morning 😂

His confidence is growing, and that matters more to me than perfect form at six years old.

Parents: get your kids in the weight room. Teach them how to move well. Strength is a lifelong skill.

We’re excited to continue growing our youth program at Alpha and welcome more young athletes to train with us 💙🦍 taken in Dallas, Texas by @ehsimmons18

Saturday session with my boys

Ladder drills help build coordination, rhythm, footwork, and body awareness. Hurdles introduce low level plyometrics and teach kids how to absorb force, control their bodies, and confidently clear objects in front of them. Box jumps help develop lower body power, explosiveness, and athleticism. Bodyweight squats and push ups build foundational strength, motor control, stability, and movement mechanics that carry over into sports and everyday life.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that kids are “too young” to start strength and athletic development. The truth is, there is no perfect age to start learning how to move well. Training for kids should not look like adult training. It should focus on coordination, balance, control, strength, confidence, and learning how their bodies move.

Research continues to show that age appropriate strength and movement training can help improve athletic performance, reduce injury risk, improve bone density, build confidence, and create healthy movement patterns that last for life.

The goal is not to create elite athletes overnight. The goal is to help kids build strong foundations, develop confidence in their bodies, and learn to love movement early. taken in Alpha Project Strength and Conditioning by @ehsimmons18

Never Skip a Monday Week 56.

Crazy roads, crazy weather, kiddos home from school going stir crazy… schedules all over the place. Trying to get important work done while also soaking up these unexpected moments and making memories.

But the world doesn’t stop. Neither should your health goals.

Even if it looks different than normal, find a way to show up for yourself. taken in Alpha Project Strength and Conditioning by @ehsimmons18
