Less than three weeks to go before Michigan’s primary election and I’m breaking my IG hiatus to let everyone know how utterly excited I am to vote for @abdulelsayed for U.S. Senate. You guys — we cannot afford for Abdul to lose. We have witnessed over the past year and a half our elected officials choosing to fold instead of fight, using the taxes *we pay* to favor corporate, billionaire and military power over programs that actually help people, and allowing for a stunning daily stream of unprecedented corruption and hatred coming from the highest levels of government. Abdul will fight to get money out of politics, put money in our pockets and finally achieve Medicare for all. I am truly excited to have Abdul represent us, and I hope you will join me in voting for him.

I don’t know if I will have time to create a voting guide for the August 4 primary, but PLEASE reach out to me with any questions you might have! There are sooooo many important races in Michigan this year and we can’t afford to sit this election out.

✌️ ❤️ 🗳️

Spent approximately two hours in the Bahamas on our vacation, which was technically to the Bahamas. 🚢🇧🇸

Separate post to come featuring all the subpar photos I took of the *amazing* artists on our Holiday From Real cruise. And who knew the name would be so freaking literal 😭 Last night I started tearing up when the last band played their last song because I didn’t want to come back to real life. But here we are, and we’re in this fight together ✊💙

We voted today! 🗳️ In Michigan, we now have in person early voting - something we all voted to implement in 2022. It’s everyday now through November 3. At the location we went to, all of the sticker designs were available! @thegooder went with the viral werewolf, but I have loved ‘I’m cool. I voted.’ since the contest began. Swipe to see them all! ✌️

Happy 15th birthday to the best and most beautiful cat ever, @stevie_winkle! 😻 He has blessed us beyond belief this year by being just about the healthiest he has ever been. You wouldn’t guess he is a little old man - he begs to go outside multiple times a day and loves to play. Best of all he lets me pet his soft little ears everyday, even though he loves his daddy far more than he loves me. I love you so much booby boy 🥹🧁

This past week we were in Bethesda, Maryland for @thegooder’s latest surgery and recovery at the NIH (it went really well! Thank goodness for such an amazing resource and wonderful doctors). Since we were only a metro ride away from DC, I contacted @repscholten, and her office got me into a White House tour (thank you 🫶). It was super cool to have the opportunity to go inside - highly recommend! 🇺🇸

In other news if you have read this far, V1 of my 2024 Michigan Voting Guide is LIVE! Link in my bio. ✌️🗳️

Spain wins the 2024 Euro Cup! So much action in the second half 👏⚽️ 🏆 🇪🇸

We headed down to Las Canchas (the very colorful futsal courts located along Seward downtown) for a steaming hot 🔥 outdoor watch party complete with food trucks and a DJ. Follow @downtowngrinc for more events like this one - or head downtown literally right now to watch the Copa America finals this evening. (Go Colombia! 🤗)

Shoutout to @thegooder on National Cancer Survivors Day. He has many admirable cancer fighting qualities such as good veins, stubbornness, a high tolerance for pain, and the ability to laugh at morbid scenarios. But in all seriousness - he rolls with the punches and has never lost his sense of adventure 2.5 years into a journey he didn’t sign up for.
And to all the other fighters out there, I see you! 💪❤️

Don’t let the sign fool you - we’re doing but a mere 40 miles (or 68 km) of the full French Way trail of El Camino de Santiago this week. But we’re certainly getting our steps in and checking Spain off the list of countries we’ve visited ✔️ 🇪🇸 🇫🇷 🥾

We saw A LOT of canyons this past week, but this post is dedicated to Antelope Canyon. Located on Navajo land with tours led exclusively by Navajo guides, it’s one of the most photographed places in the world - clearly for good reason. Very grateful for the opportunity to see it 😍
