Marcel Duchamp's "Box ia a Valise" at EIDIA House Plato's Cave came down last week. Certainly one of the more complicated exhibits we've done here since 2009. But leave it to Marcel.. in anyway you interpret him, you're going to get a very simple thing that is very complicated. With that, Marcel might say: Probably, yes and no, but not really.
A proud note, for Fresh Widow, I was able to actually use real black cowhide for the backing of the 8 panes, leather being what he used in the originals.
And bicycle wheel is an EIDIA House original, steel stamped and dated 2016. The EIDIA 'Magnetized Air' 2023, was an homage to his '50 cc of Paris Air' (1919) of course. ☁️🤏🍇🕶🤛🎨🤜🗼👀🕊👍✌ by @eidiahouse

Marcel Duchamp's humungous retro, sadly the last day. Spectical yes--worth it. Fantastic attention to detail, install, and lighting!!! A great treat. Very rare to view such an array of "Box in a Valise". Amazing. I visited thrice..Hats off to MoMA, to all the curators and all involved. Most memorable. The latest from e i d i a house the "food sex art - starving artists' cookbook and video special edition suite 2026". A limited edition 6 with one AP. The suite includes: 1 signed and numbered FSA/SAC book; one DVD of The Highlights Tape film; one vintage VHS cassette case; one food sex art water; one food sex art banana; one food sex art hot air bag; one food sex art pill -- actually two EIDIA pills containing one thousand ideas, (signed edible rice paper in glycine capsules) one plexiglass Dome 24x12 inch and an optional poster 35x29 inch. The newest and best Cube from EIDIA House, 5×5×5" solid graphite with the EIDIA Manifesto Handkerchief which folds and the cube is placed on top. They come in a 10" plexiglass case. We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our friend Artist, Anarchist Ben Morea (Eagle). 🕊🌈 We were fortunate to visit with Ben often at his Hell's Kitchen Loft and more than happy to give him a one person solo in the EIDIA House, Plato's Cave space. January 16 to February 28, 2026. Here, a few works on paper; "Untitled" 1992, stencil spray enamel on paper and then his famous "Target" pieces #16, #8, and #12. Paul, 2026, on Piero Manzoni's The Base Magica, Sculture viventi (living sculptures) from 1961. There was always a wonderful youthful, playfulness in Manzoni's very serious practice.
I feel like a kid again. Somehow, and I have yet to nail down the source, but I had heard a Piero Manzoni and his work in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I was just 9 or 10. And I felt that I immediately understood it. It seemed instinctual. I had a total grasp--my thoughts were; "He thinks like me." And how could that be? And I thought I could never be an artist (though some elders told me otherwise). I knew of the fantastic "Sculpture viventi", living sculptures--people would stand on the Base Magica and Piero would sign them as a living work of art. Thinking as a kid--what a great idea. And I always wanted to stand on that pedestal. To say that Manzoni and other artists such as Yves Klein, Duchamp, and Man Ray had a massive influence on EIDIA goes without saying.
As it happened at the Magazzino Italian Art Museum in Cold Spring New York on April 11th 2026, during a special exhibition of Manzoni, the museum restaged "Sculture viventi" and visitors were invited to stand on the Base Magica. Melissa and I made the special trip from Manhattan to Magazzino just for this. What a treat. Melissa filmed my less than 6O second happening. I wore my "Narrator Mask and Napoleon Hat" special for the action. The Museum gifted all participants a photograph and Declaration Certificate I will frame it yours truly Paul Lamarre, EIDIA.COM..BTW Magazzino is a MUST visit. by @eidiahouse
