Making art to the best of my ability.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Great news, everybody! Muse can turn my portrait of Gil Scott-Heron into a crayon masterpiece. Why ever did I bother to take the hours to paint it in the first place when Muse could’ve done it for me? Isn’t this what makes art for everyone? #artbyartistsvsartbyrobots #thisaintreallyyourlife #artbyhumans by @eidsonart

Huge thanks to Del, Kid Koala, and Automator for making it out this way to put on an excellent show and for Center Stage for booking them! Also thanks for introducing us to Kyle Rapps and his pop and Lealani! So happy to finally have caught Del live, hear the classics and a taste of the forthcoming Deltron album. Ready for it, we need Deltron now more than ever. #delthefunkyhomosapien #kidkoala #dantheautomator #livemusicsoothesthesoul by @eidsonart

Always nice to see new art in the area! These are a handful of images from the Rosenbaum-Kamp Japanese Woodblock collection currently on display @hudgenscenter in Duluth, GA. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near the Atlanta area. If not, they provided an email address to inquire about purchasing an exhibition catalog (see the last photo). #hudgenscenterforthearts #japanesewoodblock #eyeballtreats #art by @eidsonart

Yeesh! Heard a statistic today that Americans spent three hundred billion dollars last year placing online bets. Apparently this amount exceeded all the money that went for art, music, movies and museums combined. Everybody has their vices but I feel like maybe we are falling down the wrong rabbit holes. Easy to justify all those data centers though with that much green rolling in. #maybedonatetocharityinstead #buysomeart #supportmusicians #gotoamuseum #supportcreatorsinsteadoftechbros by @eidsonart

Proof of artistic life! I’ve been avoiding posting work on here because I’m not happy with the devil’s deal we made for this social media that allows AI to strip mine our work so people can churn out keyboard prompted “art”. So this is likely the last time my work appears in full on here. I’m grateful for all the kind words and conversations thrown my way, but I’m going to stick to posting on my website after this. Will keep the page up to hype and chat with good folks for a bit at least. I haven’t painted a musician portrait in a bit but kept this photo I took from The Obsessed concert to paint because it seemed like it would make a good one. If you’ve never been to the @centerforpuppetryarts now is an excellent time to go! Not only do they have the amazing Henson and international puppet wings of their museum, but they currently have an incredible temporary exhibition of stop motion delights. So much amazing stuff to see in this one, I had the same expression on my face as depicted in the boxtroll sketch. The best part is, I’m only showing a small portion of it so you can be surprised when you go to! So glad this place exists and our kids grew up with what it has to offer. #puppet #stopmotion #eyecandy #inspiringart #art by @eidsonart

Huge thanks to @529_eav for putting an amazing show top to bottom last night. @orderoftheowl @theobsessedofficial and @pentagram_the_band all laid it all out there with some amazing music. Thanks for a great night! #metal #doom #greatmusiccannotbedenied #musicforlife by @eidsonart

Appreciation post #2- Finally got to see this film about the mighty Morricone. Interesting to hear about his reluctance to be involved with music as a boy and the thinking behind his scoring methods. We are incredibly lucky to have his work to enjoy so I’m grateful he stayed on the path of music. #enniomorricone #enniomorriconemusic #musicforlife by @eidsonart

Appreciation post #1 for today: This was a great read that touched on his time with the 5 and life after. Highly recommended if you like a good music biography! #greatreads #musicforlife #waynekramer #mc5 by @eidsonart

Big thanks to the local library system for having this in when I was mulling around. Great survey of the Isleys and insight about the industry gatekeeping skilled black artists had to endure. A brisk read at 119 pages. Recommended. Also, before someone point it out, I am aware the track I attached is on Go for Your Guns not 3+3. I just love it. #isleybrothers #climbinguptheladder #greatreads #musicforlife by @eidsonart

Found this one in @bizarrowuxtry yesterday. Didn’t know @iwilldestroytom began a new story! Always loved the humor and absurdity but also obvious love for these guys in the stories. It helped bring some chuckles and since Henry is dealing with the loss of their cat it was especially special as we had to say goodbye to ours of 17 years. Thanks to @microcosm_pub for putting this out into the world. #funnycomicsfortroubledtimes by @eidsonart

Not the greatest of photos because I was trying to spend most of the time watching the concert but huge thanks to @truelovesband for making the haul from Seattle to the Atlanta area and to @eddiesattic for hosting them. It was a great show fun to see Jimmy James play again and Dan Weiss drumming was rock solid as always. The rest of the guys were all new to me but brought the heat and had fun doing it which made for a great show. Highly recommended! p.s. no True Loves music to attach so adding a little Curtis which I know Jimmy won’t mind. #livemusic #funtimes #musiclife by @eidsonart
