Save your money; donate your blood. 🅰️🅱️🅾️🆎🙏🏻🩸💉🫀

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If 9/11 means anything to you, always give blood on 9/11 if you are eligible. If you time it right and you're eligible, you should be able to donate blood six times a year. Start on 1/11 and donate every other month until 11/11. (It's easy to remember.) If you're not eligible, consider becoming CPR/AED/First Aid certified every two years in September. Thank you to Klay, Hunter, and Angie at @nebloodbank. I even remembered to wear my Phlebotti-Hotti ring❣️ #giveblood #givebloodsavelives #givebloodgivelife❤️ #Omaha 🅰️🅱️🅾️🆎🫀💉🩸 taken in Nebraska Community Blood Bank Omaha by @eileeninbenson

At long last, and after three attempts (and six hours in the same room), I passed the "practical" exam for my #phlebotomy license. My next step is the online exam in August. Thank you to Kristin, @fictionalmoss, Deirdre, Anne, and Liz for holding me in the Light this morning. I wasn't able to have a beer right away, but I brought my "I did it!" koozie to class for one of my water bottles.

This has been a long journey since I registered April 1st. Tonight I got to open my embroidered scrubs that I had put away in my gift closet in May. (Delayed gratification is the best kind!) I wore special earrings for luck with the 'butterfly' needle draws. And I saw a huge monarch in the parking lot after my first meltdown, and another one when I finally got home. 🦋

We started our rotations at 9am. I wasn't the very last student to pass, but I did get to be the 'patient' for her last try on her last attempt on her last draw on the last round, and I cherish that Band-Aid most of all. 🩹 After that bandage was put on me, she passed and we all got a round of applause. Our amazing classmates stayed until the last needle was safely disposed of, just for moral support.

Xoxox to Stacey at @nebloodbank for inspiring me. I can't wait until we're colleagues❣️

Nebraska is currently experiencing a #bloodemergency. Please donate if you are eligible. 🅰️🅱️🅾️🆎💉🫀 #givebloodsavelife #giveblood #omaha 🙏🏻 Much gratitude to @mercedesty for support, to my classmates Calla, Rachel, Emma et al., and of course my instructor Miss Daisha 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. I'm mowing a labyrinth into my little acre. It's called EilennaHenge, and the sacred pathways are coming clear just in time for Solstice. There are bunnies on the paths every evening at dusk, when darkness 'evens' the day. 🚜💪🏻🌈🧚🏻‍♀️🌻🐇🍄 PS. Bigfoot was here!! 🫈 taken in Benson Gardens by @eileeninbenson
