Hace un mes se estrenó esta pieza que tuve la oportunidad de editar. Un proyecto que tomó forma gracias al trabajo y la paciencia de muchas personas que confiaron desde el inicio.

@jorgebustillos me invitó a sumarme a principios de este año, seleccioné y monté desde cero muchas horas de material para cerrar la etapa final de edición ✨

(PD: El aspect ratio nativo es ultra wide pero Instagram no me deja aún tener un carrusel así 👵🏻)

How does it feel to edit your first feature-length film?

We are so happy that the universe brought editor @eileenvera_ our way to beautifully piece together our voyage!

Read about her experience in editing a feature-length film for the first time ever:

“Fue un proceso cargado de aprendizaje, intuitivo y orgánico al principio.
De sinergia.
De paciencia, mucha paciencia.
De horas de selección, armados, desacuerdos, nuevos armados.
De cambios de sentido, de propósito. De nuevas ideas.

De ser fiel a una historia que no es mía, pero con la que me identifiqué muchísimo desde el primer momento porque va más allá del viaje externo y físico, muy exigente de por sí.

Pero ese viaje difícil de entender, emocional, complejo e instintivo que implica existir tomada de la mano tus miedos y de esa incapacidad de sentirte suficiente, incluso cuando tu meta alza la voz por un bien común.

Por eso contar la historia de Kiana, Lærke y Alizé, se convirtió también en un trabajo catártico para mi, en el que pieza por pieza encontramos esa voz que se sintiera real y fiel con la experiencia que vivió cada una.”

“It was a process full of learning—intuitive and organic at first.
One of synergy.
Of patience, a lot of patience.
Of hours spent selecting, assembling, disagreeing, and reassembling.
Of changes in direction, in purpose. Of new ideas.
Of staying true to a story that isn’t mine, but one I deeply identified with from the very beginning—because it goes beyond the external, physical journey, which is already demanding on its own. It speaks to that difficult-to-understand journey: emotional, complex, and instinctive, the one that comes with existing while holding hands with your fears and that constant feeling of not being enough, even when your goal raises its voice for a greater good.
That’s why telling the story of Kiana, Lærke, and Alizé also became a cathartic process for me—one in which, piece by piece, we found a voice that felt real and true to the experience each of them lived.”

Retomando el compartir los proyectos en los que he tenido la suerte de trabajar este año, quiero mostrarles el tráiler de la segunda edición del festival documental ALT, una pieza que tuve la oportunidad de editar y en la que también trabajé el diseño sonoro, bajo la dirección de mi querido @s.messalti

Siempre estaré agradecida con lo que hago, porque cada día me conecta con mundos distintos al mío. Mundos que me invitan a aprender, a inspirarme, a alzar la voz y a reconectar con todas las posibilidades que tiene el documentalista para crear y habitar nuevos espacios. by @eileenvera_
