From intricate natural structures to digital imagery and unconventional sculptural materials, these five works reconsider what an artwork can be made from.

@tessaefarmer draws moths, beetles and minute skeletal figures into a cocoon-like swarm where natural abundance tips, almost imperceptibly, into unease.

@luc_palmer builds an ambiguous painted space in which form and atmosphere remain deliberately unsettled, encouraging the eye to move between recognition and abstraction.

micc reimagines the historic still-life tradition through digital construction, using the familiar genre as a setting for provocation and contemporary visual dislocation.

@eilergerhard_anke stacks glossy white silicone into a rounded, cream-piped form, hovering between confection, bloom and extravagant bodily growth.

@anna_moskaletz approaches the painted surface as a space of rupture and reconstruction, allowing absence, texture and visual tension to remain productively unresolved.

Berlin merkezli sanatçı Anke Eilergerhard, yoğun pigmentli poliorganosiloksandan (silikon) ürettiği heykellerinde kendine özgü, duyusal bir dil geliştirir. Sanatçının üretimlerinde, kek ve kremşanti motifi merkezde yer alırken Eilergerhard, gündelik bir öğeyi sanatsal bir simgeye dönüştürür. Mizah, yalınlık ve görsel güçle şekillenen işleri; ihtişam ile sadelik, incelik ile sertlik, kırılganlık ile dayanıklılık, kozmos ile kaos, gelenek ile yenilik, yüzey ile derinlik gibi zıtlıkları bir araya getiren bir anlatı inşa eder. Sanatçının “Sunny Yellow Balance” adlı eseri, üst üste dizilmiş kremamsı katmanların oluşturduğu heykelsi bir formdur. Hem tatlı bir pastayı andıran hem de soyut bir mimari forma dönüşen yapısı ve canlı sarı rengiyle dikkat çeken eser, izleyiciyi alışıldık malzemelerin ötesinde düşünmeye davet eder. Eserdeki katmanların tekrarları ise güçlü bir denge hissi yaratarak duyulara hitap eden bir deneyim sunar.

Berlin-based artist Anke Eilergerhard develops a unique, sensory language in her sculptures crafted from highly pigmented polyorganosiloxane (silicone). At the heart of her oeuvre is the motif of the cake and the cream topping, which she transforms from an everyday motif into an artistic symbol. With humor, conciseness, and visual power, her works create a narrative that unites seemingly incompatible elements, such as opulence and austerity, delicacy and hardness, fragility and resilience, cosmos and chaos, tradition and innovation, surface and depth. The artist’s work “Sunny Yellow Balance”, is a sculptural form composed of creamy layers. With its surface texture which resembles a sweet cake that simultaneously transitions into an abstract architectural form and its bright yellow hue, the work draws attention and invites viewers to think beyond conventional perspectives. The repetition of layers in the work also creates a strong sense of balance and offers a sensual experience.

A cloud of precision, a sculpture of pure illusion — @eilergerhard_anke's Polle unfolds here in a mesmerizing all-white composition, where delicate, whipped forms seem to pulse between softness and structure. Floating against the void, this piece feels almost weightless, yet intensely present — a quiet explosion of texture, control, and playful sensuality.

Eilergerhard continues to redefine sculptural language, transforming the familiar into something entirely unexpected — and deeply collectible.

In just a few weeks, the artist will present a major solo exhibition at @dangaleria in Brazil — an exciting upcoming moment in her international trajectory.

A special moment behind the scenes

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Anke Eilergerhard (@eilergerhard_anke) in her studio to select a work for the upcoming Rotary charity auction in December in Vienna. The auction will support the wonderful work of the CS Hospiz Rennweg, making this artistic encounter even more meaningful.

Anke’s practice is deeply inspired by nature and transformation. Her work often explores organic processes, subtle structures and the quiet poetry found in natural phenomena. The piece chosen for the auction, “Pollenflug” (“Pollen Flight”), beautifully reflects this fascination. Delicate forms and layered textures evoke the invisible movement of pollen through the air – a symbol of life, fragility and connection.

Seeing the work in the studio was a reminder of how art can capture something both fleeting and powerful: the quiet movement of nature and the idea of renewal.

We are grateful to Anke for supporting this charitable initiative with such a thoughtful and poetic work. We look forward to presenting Pollenflug at the @rotaryinternational charity auction in Vienna this December in support of @cs_caritassocialis Hospiz Rennweg.

At Ceramic Brussels @ceramic.brussels 2026, Anna Laudel @annalaudel.gallery presented a duo booth featuring works by Anke Eilergerhard @eilergerhard_anke and the ceramic collaboration of Ertuğrul Güngör and Faruk Ertekin @ertugrulgungor @ertekinfrk at Booth B25.

Bringing together distinct material sensibilities, the presentation staged a dialogue between individual practice and collaborative making, foregrounding process, surface, and sculptural presence rather than function.
