Ok story time loves. It’s so important to know that many online companies do not care to check and/or follow technological regulations regarding transparency in payments and the storing of our payment information.

So boom, I decided to try Ryze mushroom coffee, and honestly I loved it! The bodily and mental affects were undeniable. However, I couldn’t force myself to be a coffee girl, and intended to only try it for 1 month. I paid for the ritual set and thought I was done last month.

So this month, I’m checking my account and see a charge from Ryze. When I checked my email, I see reference to a subscription I was assigned. I initially thought that maybe I didn’t pay enough attention when I checked out, and accidentally clicked something before checking out. But then I remembered that very expensive IT Master’s I kicked my butt to earn, and how fearful I was to keep my online store open with all the regulations I was learning.

I quickly remembered transparency being a HUGE component of federal and state regulations. So, I looked at my initial order, and everything on the Ryze website. I also refreshed myself on federal and state regulations that relate to my issue.

I’m no stranger to court appearances, and I remembered something my lawyer conveyed many times… in court, the truth doesn’t win. What you can prove does. So, I took a shot at making Ryze prove that they hadn’t violated any regulation prior to me taking it further.

I’m glad I did. I laid out my case and received the results I deserved… quickly. Moral of the story, know your rights and say what you need to say. They tried to tell me I consented, but couldn’t show me where. They told me that they couldn’t refund me because the order was in processing. Yea well, oh well.
