We were supposed to take a break… 💝 The past month has been heavy. The kind of heavy that sits on your chest and doesn’t let you breathe. The kind that makes you question how much more heartbreak you can take. Brittany said it was time. Time to pause. Time to heal. Time to just be for a second. And we meant it. But then today… Lee County Animal Services reached out. A Great Dane. Starved. Dumped. Left to die. And the second we saw her face… that was it. There was no “break.” There was no “pause.” There was just her. I called Jennifer immediately—begging, please say yes. And without hesitation… she did. Our incredible board member Karley got off work early from the hospital, got in her car, and drove straight there. No questions asked. No delay. And in the most EIO way possible… this broken, starving, discarded baby rode back to safety in a convertible. Because even in her darkest moment… she deserved to feel something good. ✨ Welcome to EIO, Avril. ✨ ⸻ I am sitting here in tears looking at her. No dog should ever look like this. No soul should ever be reduced to bones and survival. She has a long, long road ahead of her. Medical care. Nutrition. Healing. Trust. But one thing is certain… She will never be alone again. There was never a time in my life where I dreamed of baby dolls or Barbies. I wanted Pound Puppies (who remembers those?! 😭🐶) I wanted muddy boots from feeding horses. I wanted dog hair on my clothes. I wanted the smell of hay in the barn and a leash in my hand. Even in elementary school when teachers would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Other kids said doctor. Teacher. Astronaut. I proudly said… ✨ “A pet shop owner.” ✨ Not even fully knowing what that meant — I just knew I wanted to be surrounded by dogs. I wanted to sell dog food. I wanted cute little dog clothes. I wanted shelves of treats and puppies wagging their tails when people walked in. When I was about seven years old, my mom let me get two cockatiels and a dog… and from that moment on, animals just kept finding me. One day at Winn-Dixie, a man was giving puppies away out of the back of his van. They looked so sick. I couldn’t leave them. I brought one home and hid it in my bathroom, trying to nurse it back to health before school the next day. My mom was yelling (rightfully so 😅), but she let me keep the puppy. That little soul ended up battling severe mange and pneumonia… and didn’t make it. And that was it. That heartbreak didn’t stop me. It planted something in me. A fire. A promise. A purpose. Fast forward to meeting the right partner, and all those childhood dreams started unfolding into what you now know as EIO Rescue Ranch. It’s been beautiful. It’s been devastating. It’s been exhausting. It’s been worth it. Some days you want to quit. Some days you want to take every animal off the streets. But we do our part. One life at a time. 🐾 When you rescue from us, you become family. We stay in touch forever. We celebrate the wins. We walk through the hard stuff together. At the end of the day, I know we give everything we have to every animal that comes through our gates. This isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are. I guess we can’t just crawl in the hole and bury ourselves with you. But I really really want too. I knew since the day I met you. You were never going to be leaving the ranch. And Brittany and I just said the other day to someone how you were going to be our dog forever. I going to miss coming home from work to you greeting me at the fence for our long talks about how your day was, the way you would burp in my face and run everywhere at 100mph. Your bark will forever echo throughout our property. And I honestly don’t think I can ever fill your room again. We aren’t sure why heaven stole you from us Jimmy CHOO CHOO. It’s not fair but I hope you know how much you were loved here. You were family. You were our dog. RIP crazy Jimmy 😫😭 💔 We don’t have answers yet. We don’t know why he was gone within 15 hours. We are waiting for his autopsy and toxicology to come back. by @eiorescueranch

😭❤️ TODAY, YOU BROUGHT US TO TEARS. AND NOT BECAUSE OF THE RAIN. ❤️😭 Sometimes you make a post begging for help, and nobody steps up. You sit there wondering how you’re going to make it all work. TODAY WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE DAYS. 🥹❤️ Today, SO MANY of you stepped up for EIO Rescue Ranch that I was literally standing there crying. The rain over the last week has been absolutely RELENTLESS. Our property is flooded, we’re walking through nasty, mucky water trying to care for tiny puppies, and quite frankly, we have been OVERWHELMED. And you know what? It’s okay to be overwhelmed. But it’s a whole different feeling when you’re standing ankle-deep in disgusting water, holding little lives that depend on you, wondering how much more you can possibly handle. Today, we swallowed our pride and asked for help. AND YOU SHOWED UP. ❤️ The shares. The messages. The offers to foster. The people willing to open their homes. The people who didn’t just scroll past but actually DID SOMETHING. You have absolutely NO IDEA what that meant to us today. Rescue is beautiful, but some days it is exhausting, heartbreaking, physically draining, and downright HARD. We don’t always show you those moments. We try to be the ones who figure it out, who say yes, who make room for one more. But today, WE needed rescuing a little bit, too. And our community came to OUR rescue. 🥹🐾 From the bottom of our very tired, very emotional, and incredibly grateful hearts, THANK YOU. To every single person who shared, reached out, offered help, fostered, or simply reminded us that we’re not doing this alone — we see you. We appreciate you. And we will never forget today. We still have a lot of water to get through, literally and figuratively, but tonight we can breathe a little easier because of YOU. THIS is what rescue is supposed to look like. Foster needed!! Comet is doing amazing . He’s potty trained, crate trained and has a personality to melt for. He’s the sweetest guy and extremely playful, don’t let his injury fool you. He’s a normal dog, loves walks and can jump on the couch with no problem. Dog friendly, cat and kids friendly. We love him here at the farm! He has way too much fun! But he still needs to wait four weeks until his surgery date. The ranch is amazing. But he needs a more home like setting and deserves all the love he can possibly get. 🐴❤️ GOOD MORNING FROM JOURNEY! ☀️🐴 Our sweet boy wanted to pop in and say GOOD MORNING to everyone who helped save his life! 🥹❤️ Journey would like everyone to know a few things about himself… 🐴 He LOVES treats. 🥕 He LOVES food. ❤️ He LOVES attention. 😂 And apparently, he REALLY enjoys being fed regularly. WHAT A CONCEPT! This handsome boy is already the talk of the neighborhood! Everyone who meets him falls in love with his incredibly calm, gentle, and loving personality. It’s hard to imagine that this sweet soul was found wandering the streets of Sebring with nobody coming forward to claim him. 💔 But those days are OVER, Journey. You are safe now. You have a full belly, people who adore you, and a rescue that will make sure you never have to wonder where your next meal is coming from. ❤️ Now comes the part where we need YOUR help. 🙏 Yesterday alone, Journey’s transport cost us $380, and we also had our veterinarian out for his Coggins test and health assessment. And that’s just the beginning. Journey will need ongoing feed, hay, farrier care, veterinary care, and everything else that comes with giving him the life he deserves. ❤️ Everybody LOVES seeing animals saved. Everybody wants rescues to say YES. But we cannot keep saying YES without people helping us carry the financial responsibility. We are a small nonprofit rescue with VERY big hearts, but unfortunately, love doesn’t pay the vet bills or buy the hay. Even $5 makes a difference. 💔🐾 LYNX HAS A QUESTION… “WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE ME, BUT NOBODY WANTS TO TAKE ME HOME?” 🥺 Hi everyone. My name is Lynx. ❤️ I’ve been to TWO adoption events now. Two whole events where people have stopped to hold me, cuddle me, kiss my little face, and tell me how absolutely adorable I am. I’ve heard “Oh my gosh, he’s PERFECT!” more times than I can count. But you know what I haven’t heard? “He’s coming home with us.” 💔 I came all the way from Texas with my momma, Zelda. My mommy had a really hard life before EIO Rescue Ranch saved us. She was exhausted, sick, and had given everything she had just to keep me and my siblings alive. She fought so hard for us. And because of her, I’m here today. ❤️ I thought the hardest part of my little life was over. But now I’m learning that being rescued and being chosen are two very different things. 😭 I watch people fall in love with me. I wag my little tail. I give my best puppy kisses. I try SO hard to show them what a good little boy I could be. And then they put me down. They walk away. And I go back to the rescue. I don’t understand. Wasn’t I cute enough? Did I not give enough kisses? What did I do wrong? 💔 The ladies at EIO tell me every day that my person is out there. That one day someone will pick me up and never put me down again. I really hope they’re right. Because I don’t want to spend another adoption event watching my forever family walk away. I want a couch. A warm bed. A family who calls me THEIR baby. 🐴💔 IT’S $5 FRIDAY, AND WE HAVE SOMEONE SPECIAL FOR YOU TO MEET TODAY—MEET JOURNEY! 💔🐴 Journey is a sweet senior horse who was found wandering as a stray in Sebring, Highlands County, Florida. No one came forward to claim him, so rescues came together to give him a second chance. ❤️ At around 20 years old, Journey carries scars from his past—but he is gentle, loving, and ready for a new beginning. Thanks to Chloe with Farm Dog Fosters, Dalia’s help with transport, and EIO Rescue Ranch saying YES, Journey is now safe in quarantine and receiving the care he needs. Sarasota Equine came out today to complete Journey’s Coggins test and health assessment. We absolutely love Dr. Kirsch at Sarasota Equine, and she came out especially for this sweet boy. She also evaluated his wounds so we can make sure he receives the proper care moving forward. Now we need your help! Journey’s rescue has already required transportation, veterinary care, medication, and quarantine—and this is only the beginning. 🌾 LET’S TALK ABOUT FEEDING THIS BIG, BEAUTIFUL BOY! 🐴 Right now, hay costs $22 per bale, and the horse feed we use costs $26 per bag!
