ellas birthday today : 25 years of friendship.

the early years were spent stealing chocolate buttons from her mums pantry. our 6 year old hearts put a hysterical amount of question into the morality of stealing a button. the act itself being so foreign - breaking the rules.

i know that my 6 year old self couldnt have gone through with it on her own, she wasnt brave enough. she was far from fearless. but having ella there, god was i gallant - i feared nothing.

now, im not saying ella was the instigator. no, almost never. but i know that i was to her, what she was to me. the forever accomplice. the person who will be there through your bad decisions, encouraging you to make the mistake. their presence after every stolen button - enough to inspire you to try for another.

today marks 25 years of doing this exact thing. 25 years of confidence - i will sit with you through the consequence every time. every time your bravery rewards you with a button (or doesnt), i will sit with you.

anyways, its ellas birthday today : my forever accomplice.

heres to 25 more years of stealing chocolate fucking buttons.

ps.

tana, if youre seeing this - i made it allllll up. we never stole a damn thing from your pantry, the button is a METAPHOR. please make your raspberry and white chocolate muffins in spite of it all. i love you for moulding my best friend into who she is today, regardless of the amount of buttons consumed. speaking of, do you happen to have any lying around? by @eithne_mac
