The good news in Hebrews 2 that was first preached by the Lord is about the "so great a salvation".

Jesus was made a little lower than the angels, so that He can suffer death.
As an expression of God's grace, He tasted death for every man.
Because God wants to bring many sons to glory, it was appropriate for Jesus to taste death for every man.

Right now Jesus is risen from the dead and crowned with glory and honour.
The Lord Jesus who sanctifies and those whom He sanctifies are all one, so He is not ashamed to call them brothers.

He partook fully of our human nature so He can die
and through His death, He has destroyed satan who had the power of death.
He has also released from bondage everyone who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

He is now our merciful and faithful High Priest in the things of God.
He makes propitiation for our sins.
