When @ancawoman expressed the idea of creating me a 1of1 piece, I instantly thought I wanted something that reflected a sense of inheritance, not of garments, but of presence. The set was inspired from a photograph of my grandmother in a dress that carried both strength and softness. Qualities she embodied with certainty throughout her life. Lace became the language of this concept, drawn from the original dress and reinterpreted for the present.Thank you @ancabiancs for creating this special set, @gabvillareal for persevering it as a memento, and @zee_ghielmetti for beautifying me 🖤 by @ejponce

It began with a portrait.When Erika shared a portrait of her grandmother, the design took on an entirely new meaning. Rather than recreating her dress, we translated its silhouette into a capelet—something she could layer over anything. The Chinese buttons pay homage to her grandmother’s Hong Kong roots, while the trousers reflect Erika’s personal style—she has a way of making every piece distinctly her own.It only felt right to photograph the collection inside her grandmother’s home. As we wandered through each room, the house began revealing its own story. The floral lace echoed the ceiling motifs, while the antique furniture inspired the illustrated details accompanying these photographs. In Erika’s portrait, she wears the necklace her grandmother gifted her, alongside a handwritten birthday letter her grandmother included when she passed the necklace down—one Erika has treasured ever since.Some garments are simply made. This one carries the memory of a woman whose presence is still felt in every detail. by @ejponce
