Soil research is most valuable when it reflects the real challenges you're seeing in the field.

In this episode of The Dirt PodKast, Lyle Cowell is joined by Dr. Chantel Chizen, Assistant Professor of Soil Science at the University of Saskatchewan, to discuss her new research group, @dig_soilscience. Chantel explains how conversations with growers have helped shape the group's priorities and keep its research connected to the field.

Explore what the group is investigating, from prairie wetlands and low-yielding areas to soil carbon and soil variability, and how digital tools are supporting that work.
