I had the blessing of interning with TEDx Wilson Park! ❤️🔥

Every single person involved in this process has been so kind, and one of the things that made this experience so special is that everything is volunteer-based. Everyone who is here is here because they genuinely WANT to be there, and getting to be a part of that has been such a gift.

I’ve had the opportunity to watch and learn about public speaking, planning, coordinating, sponsorships, coaching, and so many other aspects that go into creating an event like TEDx. Most importantly, I’ve gotten to see firsthand how my Communication Studies degree can be applied in so many different ways, and I am incredibly grateful for that experience.

A huge thank you to Kate and Kristen for everything you have done for me throughout this internship! Thank you for always being so kind, encouraging, and patient with me. I have learned so much from both of you, and I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to work alongside you!

And thank you to my advisor for helping me get this internship in the first place. This truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I will always be grateful that I got to be a small part of it. 🫶🏼

I’m leaving this experience with so much gratitude, so many memories, and an even greater appreciation for the power of communication.

Last first day of college. 🥹🎓 Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe it. So grateful for every lesson, every friendship, every challenge, and every moment that brought me here. This past year I have gone through many challenges. Including test, scans, bloodwork, and infusions. Still no matter the trials and tribulations God was by my side. He never left but instead put this verse in my head which I had written in my room. To be able to say I am a year seizure free is the biggest blessing I can imagine. From having my life put to a complete stop and being told I may not be able to dance again to now starting my second semester of junior year on the deans list for the first time. God is so so good. Thank you to everyone who has been involved in helping me recover and rebuild my stamina, strength and resilience. Thank you for my friends and family for continuing to help and support me through the good and bad days. Thank you for everything. I am forever grateful 🫶🏼💜 by @ekp59

I am so proud of all the girls and all that they have accomplished. This year was new for them as I came in as a new teacher. They had no idea what to expect and neither did I. The first week I was stepped on by a tap shoe, I asked her why she did that and she said “idk you’re new” by a little girl who (fast forward a couple months)I now call my mini me. It shows you just how much influence you can have on these kids. Dance has the ability to inspire kids to be better not only as a dancer but also as a person. I am so blessed to be able to spend my first year teaching at Allegro and I can’t wait for the many more !! I love you all so much and I cannot wait to see what else we can accomplish!!
