You paid for premium paint. But how do you actually know what’s inside the can? Especially when the gloss and colour are gone in just a few months.

Try this simple check before trusting an enamel paint:

1️⃣ Take a small amount of premium enamel paint in a spoon and prepare it for testing

2️⃣ Apply the same heat/flame test shown in the video to observe its reaction

3️⃣ If bubbles form or the paint starts making unusual bubbling sounds, it is due to water content in the paint formulation

4️⃣ Test a Calista Sparkle Gloss enamel alongside it under the same conditions for a fair comparison

5️⃣ Never judge paint quality only by a “Premium” label; always check its actual performance

❌ DON’T MAKE THIS FLOORING MISTAKE

Before tiles go in, make sure the wet area is properly waterproofed, because once the flooring is finished, fixing hidden leakage can mean breaking the entire floor again.

Here’s what to check:
1️⃣ Waterproof the floor before tiling
2️⃣ Take the waterproofing at least 1.5 ft up the walls
3️⃣ Apply a minimum of 2 coats
4️⃣ Pay extra attention to corners and wall junctions
5️⃣ After it dries, do a 48-hour water ponding test with around 4 inches of water
6️⃣ Check the ceiling below for any damp patches before starting the flooring

Products from brands like Dr. Fixit or Fosroc can be considered, depending on the site and waterproofing requirement.

Here’s what you need to keep in mind:

1️⃣ Fix the hook to the RCC slab using a suitable anchor fastener.
2️⃣ Provide a proper cutout in the false ceiling around the hook.
3️⃣ Decide the hook position before the false ceiling work begins.
4️⃣ Keep at least 3 feet of clear space in front and behind the swing to prevent it from hitting walls or furniture.
