You don’t have to start your tech journey by learning to code. 💻✨

Manual QA testing can be an approachable entry point—especially if you’re detail-oriented, enjoy solving problems, and notice when something doesn’t work as expected.

Your job? Test how software works, spot issues, and clearly explain what went wrong.

But applying is only one step. You need to understand test cases, bug reports, testing concepts, and how to use them in real situations. Requirements vary, so check each posting for coding or automation expectations.

If I had ZERO tech experience and wanted to become job-ready in the next 90 days, I wouldn’t try to learn everything in tech. 👇

I’d focus on these 5 things:

1️⃣ Understand how tech actually works
Learn the basics of databases, cloud, APIs/integrations, frontend vs backend, and how applications talk to each other.

2️⃣ Pick ONE career path
QA, Business Analyst, Project Manager, UX Designer, Product Operations—choose a direction before collecting random certifications.

3️⃣ Learn the tools used in that role
Think Jira, Confluence, Excel, SQL basics, Figma, Agile/Scrum or AI tools—depending on the role you choose.

4️⃣ Build proof, not just certificates
Create 1–2 small projects that show a recruiter what you can actually DO. A mock project can give you something concrete to discuss in interviews.

5️⃣ Learn how to position your existing experience
You may be new to tech, but you’re probably NOT new to problem-solving, customers, deadlines, communication, documentation or teamwork.

The goal of 90 days isn’t to know everything.

It’s to go from:

❌ “I want to work in tech, but I have no idea where to start.”

to

✅ “I know the role I’m targeting, the skills it requires, and how I’m going to demonstrate them.”

And if your biggest question right now is “But which tech role is actually right for ME?” — you don’t have to figure it out alone.
