Checking in with my self

What’s the purpose of being here? Who’s to blame for this beautiful fiasco we call life? Do we blame anyone or simply try and enjoy the ride?

It’s mostly enjoyable, I think. Some have it rougher, some easier. That’s their cross to bare obviously and I find staying in my lane has truly helped me keep my head and heart safe. Wasn’t always the case

Sometimes you veer out of the lane though and get smacked

We all collect stones. The times when we were wronged or have wronged. Things we wished we would’ve had or hadn’t had at all. Heartbreaks we’ve given or received. These little stones weigh us down, they’re in our pockets or around our necks.

I truly understand the meaning behind “forgive and forget” now. It’s been something I’ve mulled over for decades and I tend to try and learn these gestures, these grand wisdoms coined by thinkers much greater than any of us.

I’ve had many interactions in my life that haven’t gone that smoothly and I realize the arguments were mostly petty and were won or lost at a cost.

One day you realize winning the argument never added a single day to your life. But pride took so many away.

Time takes enough from us. I don’t miss things I never had. I miss my friends and family, who are no longer with us

For now, I’m enjoying those small gestures that make life the grand experience it can most definitely be. With someone who makes every gesture grand by @el_dobber

Happy 4 year anniversary to my favorite musical moment. The motivation for writing it was hard earned and the fallout after was something from a novel. I’ll forever be grateful to have had the opportunity to make it by @el_dobber

This piece of music always felt like a memory to me. Like a struggle to remember, a memory of someone or to be someone’s memory.

And I guess no matter how much we try and minimize our footprint in this world, it is inevitable that we still create these stones that others collect. Stones build walls and houses, they’ll also sink you when they’re around your neck.

This is Rachmaninoff’s Etude-Tableau 33/8 and it’s from my second piano recital a million years ago. The anniversary of which I believe is today. by @el_dobber
