Thank you to everyone who made it to the opening of “¿Cómo sanas? (How do you heal?)” at @pskaufman
It was an honor to have one of my favorite local bands @_l_a_k_e_ play their enrapturing tunes live and to be able to share life experiences and healing journeys with all who were present!
The show will be up for another month so make sure to stop by at 537 S Broadway to see my paintings before they’re gone💫
A big thank you to @psklovesyou , @historiccore and @dtlaartnight for the opportunity and lovely memories

The connection and separation of red and purple. Red is what tethers us to the ground, the core of the earth, while purple is what opens us up toward the divine. Both rays of light share the connection that they’re the ends of either side of us, but red is all alone, while purple has blue as part of it. Once you merge the insight of blue and the rootedness of red, you are able to free yourself into purple. There is a lot in between, but they served as canvases for my unfolding deep in the unknown of the world and psyche. Where only trees of land and mind would suffice, and their branches still grow, the blooms at the tips of a color I’ve yet to name, calling for me to smell them.

La conexión y separación del rojo y el morado. El rojo es lo que nos ata a el suelo, el centro de la tierra, mientras que el morado es el que nos abre hacia lo divino. Ambos rayos de luz comparten el vínculo de ser nuestros dos extremos, aunque rojo yace solo, mientras el morado tiene el azul como parte de él. Una vez que unes la percepción del azul y el arraigo del rojo, eres capaz de liberarte hacia el morado. Hay mucho de por medio, pero sirvieron de lienzos para mi despliegue profundo en lo desconocido del mundo y la psique. Donde solo árboles de tierra y mente son suficientes , y sus ramas siguen creciendo, con flores en las puntas de un color que aún no he nombrado, llamándome a olerlas.

The increasing pinnacle of energy that envelops this year of the horse gave me a jolt a couple of days ago. For a moment, a sad song idea came to mind, but instead of sitting down and capturing it, I let it go. Then, immediately after, I wrote this other one instead. (Not a gurantee I won’t write any more sad songs, sorry mamá).

I believe in being the soul
of wherever I stand
I no longer want to write
any sad songs
For once I believed to not
be of the world
yet, wasn’t the world
into which I was borne?

As the soulless and aimless
wish to corrupt
I aim for words to sprout
from sorrow
till thy fertile land
may it increase the light
