dressed up with my favorite people📸💍 by @elainafaler
I’m incredibly grateful to @wdsu6 for taking the time to share my story and give a voice to what so many people are silently going through. This journey with mold toxicity and MCAS has been one of the hardest seasons of my life. It has challenged me physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in ways I never could have imagined. While I initially never would have chosen this path, I truly believe God has a purpose in it. I’m so thankful that He has given me the opportunity to share my experience, and hopefully help someone else feel seen or encouraged to keep searching for answers. If my story can make even one person feel less alone or lead them toward healing, then every difficult moment has meaning. Thank you to everyone who has supported my family and me throughout this journey. I’m hopeful that by continuing to share, we can help more people recognize the signs, advocate for themselves, and find hope. ❤️🙏 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭ by @elainafaler

onto chapter 19 📔💛 by @elainafaler
“The night is dark but I am not forsaken, For by my side, the Savior He will stay. I labour on in weakness and rejoicing, For in my need, His power is displayed.” — Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me These past few months have been some of the hardest of my life. Two weeks before moving to Bama, my body shut down, and I suddenly began rejecting food. I ended up in the hospital with reactions we couldn’t explain. I was finally diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) — a condition where mast cells misfire and cause severe reactions. I’m in the 2% of the population with it, and right now I can only eat about ten foods without reacting (flushing, swelling, trouble breathing, stomach paralysis, and sometimes the risk of anaphylaxis). As the semester went on, things got worse. I passed out multiple times in chem lab from chemical exposure and I was not getting the nutrients my body needed to heal. Some days I wake up full of light, some days I’m so sick I can’t move. But even in all of this, God carried me through every single day. At Worship Night, I felt God meet me so clearly and tell me it was time to rest and come home. I was in tears, being overflowed by His love and peace. God spoke as if He was sitting right next to me, and I know He was. After a lot of prayer, I made the decision to defer my second semester to focus on healing. Over the next few months, we’ll be doing more testing, trying new treatments, and working toward getting into a clinic in Boston that specializes in MCAS. People ask how I stay joyful through four knee surgeries and now this. And the truth is, it’s Jesus. His peace has never left me. I know I am His daughter. I know He loves me. I know He works all things for good. And I know He will heal me in His perfect timing. He is in control and the One who is leading me. I want to ask for prayer during this time. I know prayer is powerful, and these next steps are going to be tough. Thank you to everyone walking with me through this. God is in control, and I am resting in Him. 🤍 *more detail of my story on TikTok: @elaina.faler2 by @elainafaler
