POSTS STORIES REELS

The other day I was having a meeting with a professor here and I was trying to express that what I'm thinking about is a weird combination of landscape, female gaze, romance, and hauntings or the supernatural, and that I was struggling to figure out what was going on. He immediately mentioned the Bronte Sisters, blowing my mind. I cannot believe I hadn't thought about it before but gothic romances in general, even Frankenstein, have a lot in common with those ideas, which I find absolutely fascinating. And thankfully I'm actually fairly close to Haworth, where the Bronte's are from, so I might have to have a visit.

Premier is acrylic and mixed media on canvas available for print purchase in my shop from $20 by @elainaflorencejoystudio

Those landscapes I've been working on? Oh yeah, those are getting installed VERY soon here at the Flower Farm in Loomis! I'm one of three participating artists in their summer selection, and it's so wonderful to be able to show where I so often find myself- even on my days off. Come see some art and vibe. The work will be on view during business hours, but the big event will be July 17! More details to come ✨✨✨✨ by @elainaflorencejoystudio

IN case you forget, Je suis ici. I have recently accepted a full-time job, so on top of everything else going on, I’m just totally swamped. I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how much is going on. I do however have an exciting announcement! I’ll be having a solo show at Biola University this fall, with the opening on September 16th. There will be paintings, stories, singing, and all manner of me embarrassing myself. Look out for further details! by @elainaflorencejoystudio
