“Radish Spirit” V4/5 at White Rock Roof ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It took me a few extra days to post this climb from last weekend because I’ve been having a moral debate about how to post it. Mountain Project says it goes at V5, and -as much as I’d love to claim the grade- I didn’t feel like it fully deserved it. Having asked around, the community seems to agree it’s soft, so that’s why I put it as a V4/5; to give credit both to the first ascensionist, and the numerous V4 and V5- ticks.

Caveat out of the way, I absolutely loved the movement through the roof. The finish is rather meh, though, so I gave it 3/4 stars. taken in Jefferson National Forest Virginia by @elainerachelu

Took another traipse up “Soot Sprite” at White Rock Roof over the weekend! The sound of the running water behind you makes a lovely backdrop for this playful boulder. Between that, and the lack of service, I always feel like I just left a little hidden fairyland every time I drive home from here. ✨🧚‍♂️🌲🥀🪨
Thanks @thomasc1.3 for filming and remembering my beta better than I could. 🫠😂
P.S. Can anyone who has climbed this comment on the grade? I think it’s pretty sustained through the middle because of how crunchy the feet are and so I have to nail the beta or I run out of gas. So I’m inclined to say it’s a bit sandbagged. I think. ? by @elainerachelu

I heard a really weird noise and went to check it out… there was a kitten and a huge pile of clean litter on the floor. I do not know how she managed to pull so much of it out so quickly! Neither can I fathom why I like keeping such an unhinged creature in my living quarters. She has also been climbing the clothes in the closets and pulling down baskets of stuff from the top shelves, not to mention the tea cup I found broken from the middle shelf of the china cabinet last week.

It’s the “try again” regime. I don’t think you could really even call it training. More like aggressive rock appreciation. I just keep finding new boulders I have to try!

On a real note, my faith is honestly very similar. But in that case, no one has ever told me I must be very disciplined. 😅 I am constantly failing but that inevitably just makes me run back to the Father and study the word for help. Also, I am really loving all of @allison_eide ‘s songs lately! Her music is so catchy but the lyrics also have such complexity and depth and I love how she challenges the status quo.

✅ Laser, V5 at Fayette Station
Big thanks to @overtimesends @deadfishyolo2.0 @n.at.a and as always @mark_ulbrich_ for being the best spotters and giving me no excuses to chicken out! This was actually my second lap on it(!) because I sent it second try when I wasn’t expecting to, so no one was videoing that time.

We’ve been reading Acts lately, so here’s a nugget I’ve been thinking about.
Acts 1:7-8 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
It is so lovely to have limited responsibility. I do not want to know all the times and seasons or to have the role of judge or executive. Any given day of work is enough to remind me that my brain does not have the processing power to take every factor into account. I’m so glad that the role Jesus gave us was to be a witness; to know Him and to tell others is plenty for me to chew on. by @elainerachelu
