i want to explain how tennis came into my life 💘🙈

it may look like a midlife crisis. but the reasons behind it go much deeper.

over the last few years, i achieved all the goals i had set for myself. and the things that used to inspire me slowly stopped being interesting. no matter how hard i tried to bring back my creativity or career ambitions, my ego has become smaller with age. my values started to change.

at the same time, i once again faced the conflict between my own expectations and the reality of life. some situations started to affect my mood and motivation quite deeply.

people were telling me to start doing sports.

my relationship with sports is quite specific 😅 i tried going to the gym several times, forcing myself to do it even when i really didn’t want to. and every time, it ended in failure.

but i understood that at 36, movement is important for my health. i needed to bring physical activity into my life, not just as another goal, but as something i really needed.

and when i reached the point where i could either fall into depression or try to find something new that would keep me away from that dark place, i started seeing reels with tennis players.

i remembered how, for several years, my father used to drive me to tennis training and spend his time taking me to the court. and all those efforts ended when i was 13, when i traded my tennis racket for two packs of cigarettes 🔞

i think it’s pretty obvious what happened in the following years and what my priorities were 💩

so this time, choosing tennis was actually quite easy.

i truly enjoy doing these familiar movements again. my muscles quickly remembered how to hit the ball.

today, i am the weakest player among the tennis players here.
