No petting today 🐈 As far as I can remember I always loved cats. To me they are genuinely authentic spirits. They can be fierce, but they always stay true to themselves whatever one do to approach or attract them. And they got so many lives!! ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ ꩜ I called my first tabby kitten Lune, moon in French, and my twin brother got Étoile, star (or was it the other way around?). They were siblings, just as us. My second cat was Tampopo, “dandelion” in Japanese, named after Jūzō Itami’s movie. It came meowing in front of our entrance door and we had no other choice but adopting it. It died in my arms, from an injection 1 year later. I was 15. I chose my last cat after Tampopo’s death, I found her on chiens-et-chats.be. On the picture I saw her for the first time, she was so tiny she would fit in a grownup’s hand. I instantly loved her. I named her Hanabi, fireworks in Japanese, from the 1997 eponym Takeshi Kitano movie. Maybe one day I will draw her 🐈‍⬛🖤~ The cat I drew here was an unknown strong-willed tomcat that crossed my path near Le Havre, as I was hiking along with two good friends (and catslovers), adèle and vicky, early May 2024. waddling around🪿🪿🪿🍀 ~shy but proud, sensitive but strong~ In my eyes geese are impressive animals, dreadful even. Tho i assume that deep inside, they must be kind of “good”. So are all birds, aren’t they? This is why i managed to draw them as they truly are, lil (monstrous? just kidding) contemporary dinosaurs. Maybe I should take a cue from them so I won’t get seen as potential target when strolling alone through the city. 🎀🐾 I met this cutie back in March 2024, hiking on my own in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. It was a bright spring day, still a bit cold with the sun warming up my skin and shimmering on the surface of the Mediterranean Sea. The smell of pines and fig trees was everywhere. I found a lonely beach and put my raincoat on the ground, so I wouldn’t seat directly on the pebbles. There were only a few persons around, 3 at most. And this lil greyhound, that seemed to truly appreciate the comfort of my coat, as it chose it as its spot for enjoying the gentle breeze and the golden hour without any consideration for its human’s calling. This was such a lovely encounter with this vulnerable, though quiet and rooted creature 🪷~ I feel so blessed I met such a sweet being🐚•• drawing of cute and somehow shy greyhound dog wearing a red ribbon taken in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat by @ele.illu
