FOR YOUR GRAMMY® CONSIDERATION 🎶!

I’m sharing “Tijuana Christmas” by @wapacheros , my first submission for your consideration during this voting season.

It was a pleasure to be part of this track, a blend of Chicano blues, rockabilly, and soul with a reggae rhythm. The track reflects border-town holiday traditions between San Diego and Tijuana, referencing traditional treats like champurrado, rompope, and ponche, alongside local cultural symbols like the Tijuana zonkey. The narrative explores family memories and the experience of a binational Christmas season in Tijuana.

The goal of sharing it here is simply to bring Wapacheros’ work to more ears and keep connecting through music.

🎤 Songwriting: @ritchie_orduno

🎧 Recording and Mixing: Sergio Fernández Cota at @twinstarstudios

Adios Hamburg and Reeperbahn 2026. We had a great time, saw a bunch of old friends and made some new ones. If Hamburg is this cool, I can’t imagine what - nah, can’t do it. Back to SD today. by @electricblanketrecords

The EBR road show continues! After meetings in London, went north to see Mountaintop Junkshop tear it up on Saturday. Hoping to pay tribute to one of my big heroes, went to Stratford on Sunday to visit the birthplace of Mr. Shakespeare. Be warned!! I saw no Jamaicans all day, and apparently this is where William, NOT Robbie Shakespeare was born. You would think they would post that somewhere… En route from Berlin to Hamburg for Reeperbahn and this stuff they call beer. Stay tuned… by @electricblanketrecords

A blast from the past. I’m not a hoarder because I alphabetize my things. Here we have the same leather jacket and 78 P Bass (aka The Mrs.) that I’m wearing in the cassette cover ( and inner sleeve of the LP.) The Mrs. was hard at work last week on a recording session and the leather is in Witness Protection. That jacket saw the Clash at Bonds. I always say that there was everything in my life before that night, and then everything after. A veritable light switch. See you Saturday!! by @electricblanketrecords

Time to pre-order, people! We will have LPs in stock and in your hands by June 12th, and cassettes (hopefully) within a week after that.
The response has been amazing, and we're only getting started.
Stay tuned! by @electricblanketrecords

A huge shoutout to everyone in Memphis for the amazing visit we had last weekend. From the guided tours of Memphis Record Pressing, American Recording Studio, and Sam Phillips Recording, to the folks at the Stax Museum and Memphis Listening Lab for letting us wander around. It wouldn't be a stretch to call Memphis 'Ground Zero' for modern popular music. We can't wait to get back there.
Special shoutouts to Jason G at American, Lucas P from Takeout Vinyl for the tours of the studios, and Brandon S, Anthony C, and Lucas P (again!) at MRP for the hospitality and the swag.
Add on the trip to Oxford, MS to visit Rowan Oak (a 40 year wait by the way) and meeting Morgan at End of All Music and Eli at Square Books was a great way to cap it.
Have a great weekend, All! by @electricblanketrecords

@mountaintop_junkshop release gorgeous new video by Fraser West for “Heaven’s Not a One Horse Town” from their album Misadventureland, out now on @electricblanketrecords Hear them at Septembersong ‘25. WOODHQ.org

“Heaven’s Not a One Horse Town” is a cinematic, heart-wrenching track that captures the stillness of grief and the ache of memory.

Written in the quiet aftermath of losing a loved one, the song unfolds in a hospital waiting room, as snow falls gently outside. Time seems to slow, each moment stretching under the weight of uncertainty and sorrow. Against this intimate backdrop, Mountaintop Junkshop deliver a sound both tender and defiant — with driving strings weaving through the interplay of male and female vocals, grounded by a Motown-inspired rhythm section of deep, melodic bass and pulsing drums.

The track is taken from the band’s acclaimed new album Misadventureland, a collection of stories where hope, loss, love and resilience collide. A testament to finding beauty in the most unlikely places. by @electricblanketrecords
