We’re proud that we’ve been able to build and keep this kind of night alive in Linz — independently, consistently and with no compromises.

Big love to the fabulous ELECTRIC INDIGO, CAPTAIN CARACHO and MIKE VINYL who took us on this musical journey.

And most of all: thank you to everyone who danced with us, supported us and made XPANSION what it is.

10 years in. Still no compromises.

10 years ago, XPANSION started because we missed the kind of techno nights we wanted to dance at. The Stadtwerkstatt Linz became our home — and you made XPANSION what it is. 🖤

Thank you to every artist (check the list), every dancer and everyone who has been part of the journey.

Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo, DJ, Musikerin und Komponistin aus Wien, tritt seit 1989 in bislang 46 Ländern rund um den Globus auf. Ihr Name steht für die intelligente und eigenständige Interpretation von Techno und elektronischer Musik. 1998 gründete sie das transnationale Netzwerk female:pressure, das 2009 mit einer Honorary Mention beim Prix Ars Electronica bedacht wurde. Als Komponistin erhielt Electric Indigo u.a. den Kunstpreis Musik 2020 der Republik Österreich. Ihr musikalisches Schaffen bewegt sich zwischen immersiver, elektroakustischer Musik und den Tanzflächen dunkler Clubs. Gelegentlich schreibt sie auch für Theater und Film. Ihre Werke wurden auf Festivals wie Wien Modern, Musikprotokoll, CTM oder Heroines of Sound uraufgeführt.

„St. Maria als … Resonanz“ – vom 17. bis 19. September wird der Kirchenvorplatz von St. Maria zur temporären Bühne für zeitgenössische Musik, Begegnung und neue Perspektiven auf Klang und öffentlichen Raum.

Am 15.8 hören wir eine digitale Spur von @electricindigo_official im Rahmen von Vienna Sonic Memories, einer digital erweiterten Radtour durch den Wiener Prater. Die Rad-Spirale wird auch am 28.8 wieder zur Tanzfläche und zum Ort für Live Musik.
