ALL OR NOTHING live at @undertonefestival ✨✨✨

I’m so unbelievably grateful to have the opportunity to get up on stages like this to sing my songs and tell my stories🥹

With a lineup of diverse and wickedly talented female and non-binary fronted acts, Undertone Festival was truly something special to be a part of. @gcmusicnetwork really outdid themselves again in pushing the boundaries of what our industry can look like, and I felt honoured to perform in the inaugural year.

Personally, what a treat it was for me to do my first ELEEA show as a duo!!!🎤🎸🎸 Bringing the songs to life with the ridiculously amazing Carrick Sugden, adding all the special touches that had been dreamed up in the studio this year while recording these newer country/folk songs✨

This song, ALL OR NOTHING, is all about coming to the business end of a relationship, deciding if that person is going to be your all, or nothing at all… I’m so excited to release this one soon🤗💛

I’ve seen this trend everywhere, but putting mine together was such a trip down memory lane!🥹✈️

I grew up in a small country town with a family that never even took a local family holiday. My beautiful Mum still hasn’t left Australia. Travel definitely wasn’t the norm for us, but for some reason, I always had huge dreams of exploring the world.

I actually went on my first overseas trip with my friend’s family when I was 16 and it was so eye opening.

But my life really changed when I got brave enough to start travelling solo, which began with my first trip to Japan when I was still a teenager.

That 3-week trip had its funny little errors, but it was also absolutely perfect. I had so many adventures, gained so much confidence and met one of my best friends in the whole world (my favourite Frenchie!).

If it hadn’t gone so well, I don’t know if I’d have backpacked so much since, but I’m glad I’ll never know that version of my life.

Travel is wonderful, but let’s be honest, it is almost never the perfect timing or without anxiety about spending the money, stress about sacrificing the time, or fear of what you’re about to experience when you touchdown somewhere totally new, especially all by yourself.

And solo travel has huge pros and cons too. I truly love it, but it can be pretty tough at times through illness, injuries, challenges and loneliness. Especially when you’re on the road for months and months.

But I am so, so grateful that my wish I left in Tokyo to have more adventures came true, because it changed my whole life.

I’ve fallen in love, met special friends, gotten incredible jobs, tested my limits, written hundreds of songs in #TheTravelCollection, and had lucky moments beyond my wildest imagination.

I’ve been incredibly blessed with some of the ways I’ve tied travel into my life, but in general, my motto is just: work hard, live cheap, travel cheap, travel often☺️

47 countries later, the privilege to see the world is something I never want to take for granted, and I don’t. I’m excited to keep chasing adventure forever💙🗺️✨

I was blown away by the generosity of @petemurraymusic last night, asking me during soundcheck if I’d like to come back on stage during his encore to perform this song, DON’T CHANGE. So special!!!🥹

While it’s a privilege to be a support act, you’re often on quite early, when the majority of the crowd hasn’t arrived yet. So to be able to sing again at the end of the show to all of Pete’s lovely fans was an unexpected addition to an already great night.

To apply for this support slot, almost 200 artists covered a song of Pete’s and uploaded it on socials, from which 15 were selected for each of his tour dates on this Longing Summer tour.

I felt a huge connection to this song but only realised after I’d recorded my video, that it was actually an INXS song that Pete had covered on his album. So it ended up being a bit meta that we covered a cover of a cover😂

The true support of the up and coming indie artists on this tour by Pete, his team and his fans was really awesome to see, and I could feel it on and off stage. Thank you to everyone I met who gave me a pat on the back after the show - what a kind bunch! I even came back to a note on my car saying they didn’t want to miss telling me that they loved my set🤗

I’m still in awe of how this year has kicked off. Last night was super special!🤗🥹 by @eleea

after a big day of exploring the city and seeking out flea markets, here is a funny little Shanghai night wandering the streets in Yuyuan Old Town, trying to find neon lights for his photo idea and a local veggie meal for me while we dodged the rain🍜

The second mission was more challenging - I basically lived on plain scallion noodles and egg and chive dumplings the whole trip🤪🥢

(part5) I think about it all the time - it’s a wonderful act of rebellion to love ourselves, be happy and try not to prescribe to timelines and expectations if they don’t quite fit🙌

my favourite feeling will always be *gratitude*, and I try to come back to it as often as possible🫶

(part4) from the outside looking in, I think the fact I’m travelling so much these days makes it look like it came easily, but actually it’s something I have worked really hard to build up the budget and confidence to do.

I grew up very humbly in a small town and never even went on a local family holiday, so just the thought of being able to go to another country felt like the biggest dream ever.

And doing it solo? No way!

I got my first job at 11 and have worked multiple jobs ever since to afford to have these adventures, with some luck added in along the way, when work/opportunities and travel have combined.

Unbelievably, travel is a pretty regular part of my life now, but I genuinely still feel so grateful every time I get to go on a plane (even if it’s a reeeeally long, economy flight in a middle seat haha), because I can still very easily tap into the feeling of being a kid and dreaming of maybe going overseas “one day”💭

For as long as I’m able to wander around, I hope to never lose that excitement✈️

(part3) I really loved ROOTS ever since I wrote it, but I think I hadn’t recorded or released it yet because I always thought I’d have all the answers sorted out first…

fast forward a few years, and instead of answers, I think I’ve just found more peace and excitement in the unknown, rather than anxiety around trying to fit into rigid paths.

And I’ve definitely realised there’s more than 2 roads to take in life.

More than that, I realise how lucky we are to have enough choices available to us that we can even be confused about which to take. What a privilege!🙏

(part2) I’m not a doctor, but my self diagnosis during this v confusing time was: spaghetti brain🤪🍝

Even though my thoughts were all muddled and I still don’t have all the answers to this day, at least writing this song gave me some peace that night in Florence (even if the solution was to split myself in half/have a clone to avoid making decisions)😂

(part1) my new single ROOTS is out on the 6th of November and this is the craaaazyyy story that led to writing it at 4am in a hotel in Florence, Italy 🤪✈️📝🤠

beyond excited to share my biggest festival news to date… I’LL BE PLAYING AT THIS YEAR’S @WOODFORDFOLKFESTIVAL!!!!!!! 💃🥹🎤🥰🏕️🎸❣️🎪🎉

to say this is an honour, a celebration and something I’ve worked hard towards for years would be an understatement.

it’s taken a long time for me to pin myself down as an artist, and ironically, it took me right back to my roots as a folk/country singer-songwriter🤠📝

this career as a self-managed independent artist is full of trial and error, applications and rejection emails, side quests, and a whole lot of self determination and love for what we do that helps us stick at it through it all.

and I can honestly say that I still love music, and my little collection of stories that I get to sing every weekend, and every win in this crazy career as much as ever.

from busking on the streets to nobody, to playing my biggest stages so far, I’m grateful for it all.

and I so genuinely love this Festival and the fact that 100,000+ people have this special time and place to come together for 6 perfect days of connection through culture, knowledge and art. There’s truly nothing like it🫶

this year has been absolutely huge in terms of joy, growth and career opportunity. To end it with these bucket list shows at Woodford is going to be so special!!!!!!!!!🥹🙏🥰

My performances:
📍TUE 29 DEC - songwriters in the round, Stardust Theatre, 7:30pm

📍THU 31 DEC - Pineapple Lounge, 11:10am

what a joy to announce my new single ROOTS on @4zzzradio’s From The Roots show!✈️💍 🎤💥📻

Absolutely loved chatting on air all about travel, songwriting and the insane story behind this very special song to me (I’ll share that too, dw!)…

I’ve played ROOTS at every gig since I wrote it a few years back and still feel the words so deeply. The thought that other people might be able to hear, and hopefully connect, with it soon is pretty wild🥹

Thank you to the gorgeous Georgia on @fromtheroots4zzz for her great chat and giving me the space to announce this song and play an acoustic version of it in the studio (on her birthday, no less!). Community radio rocks!

please go ahead and pre-save my new single (lınk in bıo). It will be yours too on 6 November 💛
