I need much more time to explore Cape Breton Island, 1/4 of a day is definitely not enough. 😂

I will come back to Nova Scotia again. It’s absolutely beautiful up here. Will be at the airport by around 430a Atlantic Daylight Time to head home. 😭

Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park, New Brunswick

Drove over 460 miles today. I first drove to Prince Edward Island just to cross the bridge (and grab some lunch), but due to the sustained rain I almost bailed on this next destination. Glad I pressed on.

Got to the beachhead at 4p, got misted and rained on but it was well worth it. I also wimped out and took a shuttle back and forth from the visitors center to the entrance stairs. 15 min walk in the rain or transit in 2 min for 4 CAD R/T. 12C = 53.6 °F + wind, isn’t it still summer? 😅

Tomorrow should be better weather-wise and I intend on hitting Cape Breton Island. Might be just as much driving as today, maybe more.

1st day roaming in Nova Scotia. Overcast sky & rain, but that’s what I got. Same forecast for tomorrow. 😂

1-3: Peggy’s Cove
4-5: Walton, Bay of Fundy, low tide
6-12: Burntcoat Head Park, Bay of Fundy, low tide. The wind was crazy here!

Derailed from a trip to Halifax & Prince Edward Island for a long weekend, I opted to head down to the Eastern Shore for a semi-long drive to be by the water today. I picked the Hooper Islands to head to where roads end. I grew up in Loudoun County and never came down here or Ocean City while I was young. I first started exploring the Eastern Shore during the height of the lockdowns just to escape from all the restrictions in MoCo. I appreciate the water more and more as I grow older.

Pics are from along MD 335, with one that is in the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge area - I have a photo from the same spot posted way down in the archive from my active Eastern Shore roaming days
