Last week was one of those inspiring weeks.

When my sister @mariaramirez_studio asked me to collaborate and have our home as the backdrop for the baby product line the company she works for @create_spain just launched, we thought it could be really fun, specially with Ilse, being able to capture this moment in time.

We definitely managed to capture some nap shots that look much more peaceful than the behind-the-scenes moments 😅 And of course, Louie just couldn’t handle not being in the spotlight this time around.

Overall, it was a great team effort, with @jaconejo as photographer and @christoffermckie as art director, and Maria as our remote art-director queen. Family project.

Alvar and Aino Aalto Appreciation Post.

In 2009 I decided it was time to travel on my own for the first time. I was studying Interior Architecture in Madrid and, like so many others (@aliciauldall 😉)completely fascinated by Scandinavian design. My friend Héctor Rey @curva_praxiteliana was doing an Erasmus exchange at Aalto University, and that felt like the perfect excuse to visit.

That trip changed something in me. It was in Helsinki that I discovered the work of Alvar Aalto, and through him, Aino Aalto too. Their presence was everywhere : in buildings, cafés, homes, even in how people lived. It was the first time I really felt how design could be functional but also deeply human and full of warmth.

And in the middle of all that, I met some truly special people who became friends @nordichawk . That experience shifted how I saw design and also where I wanted to go next. I applied to Aalto and a few other schools in Scandinavia, and eventually ended up at Konstfack. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I found friends who became family, built a life in Sweden, and now I have a child and a home here.
In a way, it all started with the Aaltos ✨

It was the loveliest day in Stockholm yesterday . @millesgarden is still one of my absolute favorite places in the city. Pertti Männistö’s private collection there is outstanding, and I can’t recommend a visit enough. Try to go on a weekday when it’s a bit quieter, it’s magic. taken in Millesgården by @elena_ramirez
