“The Beacon” IS LIT 🔥🕸️🔥

After starting this net over 5 years ago it is so incredibly satisfying to have found the place, time, and motivation to dive back in and finish it for a big spacenet project a few weeks ago at Pirates Cove at Summersville Lake, WV (will post more about this soon) 🏴‍☠️

Finishing this feels like a milestone of how far I’ve come through personal trials the last several years and getting closer to finding my place in this world 🌎🌍🌏

When I started making spacenets in 2016 (completed my first fully spliced in 2018), I wasn’t really into the dynamics of paracord and had been learning to splice. By luck I would go on to help pioneer the extra niche niche of spliced dyneema nets. I only know of 4 others who have made spliced nets to date (any others out there??). Props to Jerry @balancecommunity for completing the first fully spliced net in 2017 👏

Spliced dyneema nets are prohibitively expensive, and mind numbingly slow and tedious to make. However, when done properly they offer the strongest most stable platforms possible, and are completely knotless, which I love 🪢

Huge thanks to @aretehostel for providing the perfect space 🌳

Also have to mention @michaelslacksalot & @slacking_with_nichols for inspiring this design with their masterfully spliced nets 🔥

Lastly, I was elated to renegade rig this up at @nocturnalcalley this past weekend. The appreciation was truly heart warming ❤️‍🔥 Absolutely 10/10 Elevated Experience 🚀🕸️🚀

This was my only serious attempt at walking The Plank @ Pirates Cove this summer before the lake levels started dropping 🏴‍☠️___🐈‍⬛___🪨

The line, rigged on @balancecommunity SS mk2, is 116m/380ft with level anchors 20ft above the water when the lake is full. The anchors are one upside down 14mm titanium glue-in in a cliff side roof and a 1/2” SS wedge on the tippy top of the boulder 🪨

The cliffside is just vertical enough to walk off safe-ishly (next time!) risking a clean 20ft fall while the walk off to the pyramid boulder is a no fall X rated flesh grater ☠️☠️☠️

The intention of this edit was to highlight a juxtaposition of perspectives. The first three angles are all from a distance backed by dramatic music highlighting the danger of a potentially high and risky fall. This is the onlookers perspective, dramatic and suspenseful 🫣

After the third wide angle we transition to a much closer timelapses perspective of the entire session that instead focus’s on the walk itself, the passage of time, and the beauty of the line. The music shifts to a more ethereal and lighter vibe. More relateable to the flow state I am experiencing ✨🧠✨

Looking forward to working on this project more next season 🎬

On July 20 @now_slack and I had the pleasure of establishing a new all natural 50m highline in the New River Gorge, WV. We both got the full man onsite with the turn around. What a lovely day on the cliffs 🌞

This line is located at The Cirque on Endless Wall which is serendipitously the most impressive wall in the New, towering over 100ft high and 200m long. The approach is just 10min from the new Main Parking - Endless Wall Trail 🎪

Presently, the only lines rigged consistently in the gorge have been Diamond Point 20 & 30m (?) making this the new longest line 🤡

Next weekend 7/31-8/2 we’ll establish the 200m to the left and rig the 50m again. DM me to be added to the chat, all levels welcome 💌

The beginning of this video is intended to serve as anchor beta. Happy to answer any questions for those looking to rig it 🪢
